    My Minimag Needs a Hopper

Well, I just picked up a nice E-Cocker, so my Minimag has become my backup/project marker. Problem is, I'm not sure where to go with it. I'm basically just trying to make it as comfortable and fun to use as I can. I just got a 3.5oz CO2 tank and I feel like I want to use that, but what should I do for a hopper? Currently I've got a Warp Feed (used to use that with a Revvy and an HPA tank off the back) but I think I want to go smaller than that. Besides, if I've got all that weight anyway, I might as well have the tank to use as a stock.

Anyway, what should I get? Anyone know where I can pick up a cheap Qloader? Are there any spring-fed tubes that would work without too much modification and be quick to change? I don't mind a small clip so long as it doesn't take me ages to reload. Should I do something cool with the Warp Feed? Basically looking for any ideas at this point, so suggest what you think would be cool.

    Well PixelGuru,
They say a picture's worth a thousand words:

I like this winchester hopper and you cant beat the price($4). Once I dremeled out the inside of the feedneck a bit, it's the best feeding small hopper I've ever had. The lid is junk so I put this old 100rd sightfeeder lid on there.

A qloader would look pretty sweet and powerfeed you up to your wildest dreams.

I like the small hoppers though, especially now that 50 round pods and packs are being produced again.

Hrm, nice setup. Is that HPA or CO2 on it? I might grab a cheap, small hopper like that and stick it straight on the powerfeed, try to lower the hopper a little bit even though it'd be at an angle. And I've never seen 50 round pods/packs. Where do you get those?

Firstly: You could chop off the feednck a bit if you are looking to reduce the height. Please don't just stick that hopper on there.

Secondly: You can custom make 50 round pods and packs. Pack just require some sewing, or you can tick them in your pockets. The poids can be made by taking a 150 round tubs(the kind where the clids attaches to a collar (instead of the actual pods/tubes). Remove the collar(and lid) then place fifty paintballs in there, mark teh approximate location(remember to keep it snug). Then cut at the approximation, rap some electrical tape/epoxy around the lip and replace the collar.

        Just a thought.

        -Isaac.

I used to put my VL200 directly on the powerfeed so as not to have the added height of the elbow. Just have to use hose clamps so the feedneck doesn't split and remember to shake the hopper from time to time. But you should do that anyway with grav feed on a 'mag.

Problem is, I'm not so sure I want to go back to grav feed after the Warp. I've never chopped during a game (knock on wood) but I like to know that the Intellifeed's there to keep me from chopping. It was a real ***** getting the microswitch into the CF frame, though.

I'll pick up a cheap, small hopper and try sticking that right on the PF, but I'll probably look for something else. If I avoid the Warp for chunkyness, that pretty much leaves the Qloader or tubes. Eventually I want to carve a wooden stock/grip for it and stick a Qloader on there, probably do something P90-style. In the meantime, though, it might be nice to try out some 10 round tubes and do the tinymag thing for a bit.

So here's the important part, if you tuned out during my rambling. Anyone know where to get decent spring fed tubes that can be easily modified to work on a powerfeed? Looking for something that doesn't cost a crapload so I can get a bunch and use them as small clips. Anyone tried making them out of PVC/other plumbing supplies? I'm thinking I might give that a shot. Ideas?

          Thanks for your time, guys.

Get an elbow, a bandolier strap AKA Chewbacca, and a bunch of 10 round tubes......

Yeah, thought about it, but I'm looking for something spring-fed so I don't have to have to stick the tubes on vertically. I spent some time hunting around the stores here (Dick's, Target, Wal-Mart) for some pocket hoppers or something, I figure I could get on with the feedneck at the front and mount it sideways on the PF so the balls roll toward and down the feedneck... No one had any, though. The helpful people at Wally World informed me they were out of stock because they only get 3 or so in at a time. Apparently that's how many fit on the rack.
