    Omg...horrible

If anyone just saw MTV Road Rules it was horrible! They were shooting at eachother with paintball guns trying to run towards a target. They ended up shooting eachother from point blank over 10 times each. They were using what looked like Scorpion markers. Only some of them were wearing only goggles. This was worse than the Jackass stunt. This makes the sport look so bad. Im just venting at how stupid that was. Not to mention they started fighting after.

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

      Were they real paintball goggles???

I have seen some shows where they were only wearing safety glasses. I have a real problem with that, as it does not fully protect the eyes. If they were wearing approved paintball goggles, then it is safe for the eyes, but yes, I do agree it is foolish. I am hoping that the new "speedball" movie will change from their trailer and use full mask/goggles because of the image it portrays. Back in the mid-90's, some of the pro paintball players were playing in goggles only (maybe the ironmen???), and because all the youngsters saw their heros doing it in the magazines, they wanted to play that way too...

Goggles only is all they wore in the beginning!!! When I started, all I wore was a JT whipersnapper goggle, for those who don't remember, that's the goggle with only a small plastic piece to protect your mouth!!! And I agree, the insurance companies must step forward and stop these stupid shows which make our sport look bad!! In the meantime, let's keep sending the hatemail to MTV!!!

You think it would be common sense???

All it takes is one injury on TV and they will smarten up! OR, they will take it out on the paintball world. But I don't think that can happen considering all the safety that actually is in effect at local fields. I dunno

Does it smell like updog in here to you?

Won't happen...........the paintball insurance companies only have power if the TV programs actually have paintball insurance, and I feel that is highly unlikely.

              *L*

I remember wearing googles only with home made ear protection. Only becuase at the time thermal masks were out of my $$$ limit, and I found that my goggles didnt fog if my breath wasnt being forced back into them.
