    twist lock barrels

How accurate and quiet are the twistlock barrels? I have a ULE mag but I really like the look of the twistlocks. If they're good, I was thinkin of buying one, cutting it a bit, and rethreading it.

    cheers

Any given barrel is as accurate as any other. There are many many different twist lock barrels out there, anywhere from high end to simple ones.

oh I thought it was just airgun that made them. Who else made them? Or do they make that look with a cocker thread on them?

AGD made a Crown Point barrel, and it is possible to have the milled to cocker thread. Though they were no more accurate than any other high quality barrel and were pretty big bore if I recall.

I have a couple of DYE twist-lock barrels, a Boom Stick and an Ultralight. Lots of manufacturers made them back in the day. I'm sure some still do. Try google. If by "look" you mean just a plain tube with no milling or porting, I've never seen one like that with 'cocker threads.

Theres no point to rethreading a twistlock barrel. Pretty much any barrel that you can get in twistlock you can also get in cocker thread and it will be a whole lot cheaper for you to just buy that.

I've got about a dozen of the old twist-locks & yes, just about everyone made them back in the day (SP, Dye, etc) - and it would definitely be cheaper to go with a current threaded barrel than trying to re-do one of the old twists...
