    Doc Nickle's barrel adaptor

Worth it? I have some AC barrels for my Sniper that would be nice to slap on the 'Mag.

Biggest question I have is cleaning if you chop a ball. Can you clean the breech area out pretty well or do you have to take it apart to clean it properly?

    Thanks.

Absolutely. I love mine. The only difference in cleaning my barrel/breech is I use one of the stick squeegees to clean the breech and a pull through on the barrel. Honestly, I rarely have to clean either.

One little trick I've learned is to put two strips of masking tape on the adapter and then install it in the body with a barrel on it. Once it's in place it's so snug it doesn't move in the least.

Mine never worked right. My field paint was too big. It would get crushed in the breech even with the LX. Your mileage may vary.

I will say Doc was a dream to work with. My 1st adapter was way too small and he even made me a custom one. It still did not work well but was not his fault.

I'd say go for it. I loved mine. And it's not any harder to clean than any other barrel, really. Go with the advice to stick a little bit of tape around the adapter, so it sits snug inside the body though.

I had a slight fitment problem when I went to install it in my Rt a few years ago. Nothing I couldn't handle. It has been a super upgrade. I wanted to run this cocker thread barrel, but retain the Rt's classic body. Worked out good for me in the end. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'd give it an 8. Just because it took some work to get it fit correctly. For Doc's defence not every marker is the same. Tolerences might be different in some.

Mine has been a dream - since I already had the Tac-One (with cocker threads) it made sense to upgrade my old classic as well (to share barrels). Since then, it has been a perfect upgrade, zero problems. Definitely recommend.

Is the detent on the unit better than a nubbin?

Sounds like tape on the unit is almost universal in getting a good fit.

              Thanks everyone,
              Justin

It uses one little rubber nub like a spyder. It works just fine. A piece of tape is supposed keep the detent in place on install. Mine was pretty tight so the tape just sheared off. The barrel has no play what so ever using this adaptor.
