Being a mod is exactly like being a ref.

Your babysitting a bunch of whiney brats (who come in all shapes sizes and ages).

When people step on their field, their egos (not the gun) skyrocket. Same thing with the internet. People sit down in front of their chair, and it doesn't matter that they're 5'3 450lbs and havent been out of their moms basement since highschool or if they're a 11 year old on his dads computer. They get an attitude becuase they dont have to look you in the eye when they tell you to "STFU".

You as a mod/ref do something about a situation, and all of a sudden your a strict *******. But next time, when you sit on your hands, its your fault for letting things get out of control.

It sucks, but its 100% amusing, so I'll keep both my ref and mod job.

      mod vs a ref

I've never been a mod...but I have been a ref (broomball) and reffing has to be harder! I mean, these guys are in your face...with sticks in my case...and they are very, very upset. Even the winning team is upset because they thought they should have won by more!!

As a mod...you just lock somone out and that's the end of him/her...bye bye. The odds that you'll have to meet them face to face is like 1 in 100,000...especially if you're in an entirelly different country or part of the country. As a ref, you can kick someone out...but then you got to see them in the parking lot after the game...where they've spent their "timeout" drinking and hating you.
