We never really push to sell them. They look good on the wall. Just waiting for the right enthusiast to walk through our door and go "I want that!" The most we do is be informative and tell people how perfectly designed they really are.

We'd be happy to see an AO'er pick one up, at least then we'd know it has a good home with someone who'd take care of it.

I'm absolutely amazed by the fact that these have been publicized for less than 24 hours and they're both a click away from new owners fingertips. We've had these markers for like 2 years or something. I'm glad to see such enthusiasm for a great marker.

Don't fear though. They haven't been sold yet!

I'd love someone to come get them in person!

These honestly may be the last 2 new ones anywhere. Makes you wonder.

Geoff it was very nice to meet you.

I did not know that this will end up like that.
I just wanted to let everybody know that there are some new X-Mags and other Mags on a Scenario Field and they look pretty.

I've got no problem selling them. The issue that we came across is that for less money people could get something remotely faster and lighter and people follow the hype. We don't really TRY to sell them like I said before, but they have always been for sale. We originally wanted to keep them in town. We have 4 X-Mags at our field and 2 are regularly played with.

No harm done Ho, this is kinda interesting!

                              More on our two X-Mags

Finally re-activated my "identity" and can post again...

These 2 X-Mags were part of an order of 6 that we (Paintball Charleston) placed at the World Cup back in 2001. We had to wait until mid 2004 to get them in, which was no problem, since we had to get the "raw" DYE Ultralite 2 piece barrels from Davey Williamson (when he was still the south-east rep for DYE). We also managed to grab 6 matching cocker threaded .689 stainless Boomstick backs as part of the package. This was before DYE started parting out their barrels & you could only buy the set. Unfortunately, their inventory system did not allow them to split the price, so we essentially had to pay for 2 full barrels (one Ultralite and one Boomstick) to get 1 front and 2 backs... All due to their silly computer system. All of this resulted in HUGE delays on our end, so waiting for 3 years was not as much of a problem as one would assume.

We also wanted warp (left) breach modules with EVERY one, as well as the J&J barrels that were stock at the time. All of this resulted in some big delays, and some of the guys who placed orders (initially, all 6 were spoken for) just couldn't wait any longer & bought other markers...

After our MPP/PBC scenario last weekend, word got out (thanks, ho...). This is probably a good thing, since we have kept 3 out of the other 4 in Charleston (my goal at the time). I did let one go (Jon Comprado almost begged me to let a certain person from Iowa buy it...) out of the Charleston area, and I do regret not seeing it at the field like I intended.

                              In the order, we had:

                              1. An AWESOME blue with microscopic metallic flakes imbedded in the anno job. This one is still in town and a good friend of mine plays with it regularly. It gets "love".

                              2. A very nice black/pewter dust that is my personal baby. As a field owner, I NEVER (almost) get to play, so this on lives on my work bench (right in front of my 944s2 and Z-3 Coupe, good company, wouldn't you say?) and almost never gets "love". I also have a pewter Dark Angel (2001), but my Mini-Mag with a retro valve gets what few moments of play time I can sneak in.

                              3. A "gothic" looking black dust with black dust BL hardware. The black dust X has taken more scalps than about any other marker on the field. A Dad & his two sons play with the following hardware: 2 Proto Matrix & the X-Mag. They take turns using the X-Mag & it never sits out a game!!! The two sons are both deadly and the little guy (probably 12 now) is one of the best natural snap shots I have ever seen in my 17 years of playing/reffing...

                              4. A very clean & subdued green to black fade. This on went to Iowa (Steve???). This one was on order for my business partner, who ended up taking a "timmy" of all thing off the retail wall just before the X came in. He regretted that one all the way. We only allow ourselves the pleasure of 1 new item every 2 years, and he used up his quota about 2 months too early. The timmy is now gone (and forgotten), and Steve up in Cedar Rapids (IIRC) has an X-Mag that he will keep forever... Jon told me he was "worthy", and that was good enough to let one leave town...

That leaves the 2 X-Mags we currently have on the wall. Our orriginal intention was to keep them (all 6) in Charleston, but we need to be realistic as well. We can put them on the open market, but the future owners have to be "worthy" as Jon would have said... We have had inquiries from out of state before (small world, these X-Mags), but have always refused to let them leave the area.

Worthy? I'll let Geoff make that determination, but some chowder head wanting to do a partial trade for a Spyder will be off the list... Fast...

If the potential owner lives in the south east, I guess we could "require" that you play with it at lest once at Paintball Charleston. Of course, each marker purchase at PBC gets 2 field passes to play with anyway, so feel free to spend a weekend in Charleston enjoying a shiny new X-Mag, lots of College of Charleston hotties & some good beaches. If you don't live in the south east, you just have to promise to give the X-Mag love... Lots.

This sounds a bit "sappy", but we have sold dozens (probably hundreds) of Matrix, Timmys, Vikings, Nerves, Egos, Shockers, Race Cockers... and I don't give a hoot about where they are now. With an X-Mag, it is much more personal. They are more than just a piece of paintball hardware and need to be treated as such (preaching to the choir???).

If you live in South Carolina, we will have to charge shipping AND tax... If you live out of state, we just have to charge shipping. The prices are set (Geoff is the one to talk to), considering all of the hardware and barrels, we will pretty much break even at the marked price. They did go back to AGD last summer for a tune up (software, new batteries...) and they have never been titled, chronoed or even shot at our store...

If you need references, give me a call (843) 819-7070 and I will have Jon (or someone else "worthy") give you a call back. Tom has been to our field/store and even "generaled" a scenario game for us a while back and I hope he remembers us fondly. I would hate to see them leave Charleston, but just like kids going off to college, some things must (and probably should) happen. As much as I would hate to see them go, I also know that we have carried $3,100.00 in extra inventory for the past several years, and there are two more potential "lucky ones" that could give them a good home.

This has turned out far longer than I intended. Thanks for taking the time to read through the whole post & may we meet on the field sometime...
