hi hi!
Hi hi! Found this thread via the celebritypaintball.com after posting with Tina on WS.com. I'm a total newbie, just got my marker, plan to attend Shatnerball 2006! It's going to be HOT!! Just drove up I-15 last weekend and it was a sporting 103degF driving thru Hemet. How much water will be around during such events? How are they handled?... Is it literally an all-day task or is it broken down into 2 hour segments, half-day segments? How many peeps will be attending, and when do we sign up? Most curious to know!!
Thanks!!

I was at the 2003 and the 2004 Shatner games. The format is usually a 6/7/8 hour game (I forget when we started and stopped).
Basically they blow the whistle in the morning and you play all day long. If you get tagged you could either be healed by a medic or you walk off the field and await the next reinsertation (usually done every 15 or 30 minutes) so you don't have to worry about wasting a day after getting tagged 10 minutes into the game.
Not much info is coming out about this one. I would love to make it (since I was at the last two - missed the first one due to eye surgery) but not much is being said outside of where and when. I would love to pre-reg but that's not available yet. My gut is telling me one of two things will happen. Either it will be last minute and no real promotion for the game outside of word of mouth or (and this is my hope) they'll simply reschedual for same weekend next year and promote the heck out of it.
Lack of pre-promotion was one of the major complaints I heard about for the 2003 game.

Hi Pirate Gent!
I've seen your posts around WS.com, and have seen pics of you and Tina and the gang having Splaat fun! I missed out on 2004 because I was such a newbie and I was semi ready for 2005.. but it got cancelled.
I hope they do it this year! I already went ahead and bought a marker and will be donating something to the auction.
I understand about the fine dance on the publicity/marketing... I'm sure Bill has to keep himself available for his acting work and promotion.. and what a drag it would be to get a load of folks out to sweat in the 100degF weather only to have him not participate!
Hope it all goes!!
