    My review on Avatars

So, I got my set of black Vents Avatars in last week. Pulled them out of the box - very nice packaging retail display setup.. nice

    Initial impressions:

On first look I was very disappointed with these. They are a harder material on the face mask than my profiler, the ears are the same material (I did not want soft, flexible ears). They almost seemed like the old V-Force Shield / Morph to me.

Ok, I decided I would try them on the field. The short review of these is at the end of the day I gave my Profilers away. I put in the clear, non thermal lens and played indoor under flourescent lights. I had a amber lens on my profiler the glare was so bad. This is without the visor on and I had wonderful, clear view, really as close to not noticing the mask as anything I have ever had. Very very nice view. The lens is at least as easy to pull as it was on the profiler but seems to sit more securely when in. And yes, the fit of these does offer a much narrower profile than the profiler did. Very very nice mask despite my first reaction. No fogging with the single pane lens despite going from indoor to outdoor (have to walk from heated indoor staging outside to indoor play area). That and with the fact taht I have repeatedly had bloody lips/nose from the flexible mouthguard on the profiler that I dont see happening with these has me happy with them.

When I first pulled them out that was really the question that hit me. On first feeling they felt like a much cheaper mask. The price did not concern me as much as how much like the shield they felt to me. In the end, as I had to replace my mask and they are better to me than profilers / invisions / Flex 7s (yes, I have tried all of them) they are worth it, as long as the others are .

Glad to hear you liked them. Everyone has only good things to say about them. I think Im going to have to pick me up a pair. (Eventhough I hoped they would look more like the old-school vents then they do)

I trust you on this one, not that I don't ever. They do look really sweet in white, hell I'll pick em' up.
I'll have to take it out to dinner and a movie first. Will it go see AVP? - Halliday On "Will you date my valve?"

Dang, i hate it when new stuff comes out... it tempts me... but I'm not spending even more money on new goggles. I just bought profilers less than a year ago(im a rec player), and I'm hoping I'll never need to buy new ones... but ooooo, are they tempting...
