Cool! A nelson valve based autococker! I never knew that about those guns - very interesting...

Brass Eagle worked with WGP to design these. It's a pretty cool project gun nowadays because they're really cheap, but complicated as hell (as you can see)

i wonder if Rainmaker owners have the problem with many people asking them "is that an autococker?"

I have one if you're interested

And yes, they sound like freaking cannons. I was dry-firing in my apartment once and the neighbor came tearing over because he thought someone was trying to kill me. I've even seen people chased out of bunkers just from the sound of the dang things.

RMOG won right? But weren't they using non-rainmakerers for a lot of the games cause of problems with them? That's what a friend of mine told me

The shock waves from the noise of the cycling cause clouds to vibrate and emit rain, hence the name.

I've heard that there's a slight, but discernable, pause between pulling the trigger and the thing actually firing. Is this true?

ROFL Rainmakers, I've always wanted one, just so I could use a BE and keep up with the Dm's and Angels or what have you. Nice guns, complicated, but nice.
I'll have to take it out to dinner and a movie first. Will it go see AVP? - Halliday On "Will you date my valve?"

Calvin: yeah. its a damn neat marker. Their main unrelaibility is just that the specs are sooooo loose. If they tightened everything up and found a way to get rid of the bolt link (links the bolt to the hammer) they'd have a hell of a marker.

BE did nothing with WGP to design the market. it is, however, loosely based off the Air Power Vector. and yes, there is a pause between when you pull and when it fires, beacuse the hammer goes forward and then backward on the trigger pull

Every single time I took my Rainmaker to my local field, I was asked if it was an electric Autococker. When I told them it was a Rainmaker, they said, "never heard of it". I reassured them they'd hear it on the field. It was loud but reliable (except for those stupid plastic fittings that screwed into the QEVs). I eventually sold it, but I'd almost be interested in getting another one, except for the fact that I don't play that much anymore, and still have too many markers.

That's what I heard as well...that in the last game many of the players had to use non-rainmakers because their rainmakers were all broken down. That's classic if it's indeed true.

As for BE owners group (BEOG), I post there from time to time. It's a pretty small forum...not alot of activity. But it is nice to see that the old school BE players are still around.

My Raptor Silver Eagle is pretty loud too. I scared two kids in a bunker the last time I used it because I fired from just behind them. They both jumped and ducked out of the way.

Wait, I thought it was WDP that teamed up with BE to originally design the RMs....?

WDP and BE had an agreement for a short amount of time that made BE the sole American distributor of the Angel market, and made WDP the sole Euro distributor of BE gear. that deal quickly went sour for a variety of reasons
