    Stock class question

Can someone explain to me why drop-out valve Phantoms are not stock class legal? Thanks.

They are, there aren't many stock class turnie's so they aren't gonna be too pickey about what gun you use as long as it uses 12 grams and a feed tube.

Depending on how picky the stock class people you are dealing with are, phantoms are NOT legal in any setup. This is because they have the autotrigger option. I am not 100% familiar with the drop out valves, but it is probably because the change the 12 gram in less than 2 turns That, or the hold 1 shot without the 12 gram in.

Phantoms have been excluded from the autotrigger rule since way back when there was such a rule.

Nowadays there is no such thing as stock class legal. There is no governing body , there is no national pro leagues , there are no 'industry pump class standards".

        "At one time"

Stock class required at least a single full turn of the mechanism to release and you needed completely enclosed 12g chamber.

Along with the others....rock and cock , non assisted pump action , 12G's , non autotriggering (which most Nelsons were excluded from since the AC is a fact of function not an intention) , no check valves.

        Currently.....

There are SC no rules , only to exude honor and respect.

Drop-outs on any marker were not considered stockclass, the 12g has to pass through the threads. IE: through the front threads as a PGP, through the threads in a bucket changer as a vert Phantom style, or through the threads in the grip frame as a Splatmaster.
Lever changer are not stockclass, either.

There were other rules such as no AutoTrigger, or a barrel length of less than 8"

But it's true that there is no governing body to post or enforce such rules.

Back in the day they were very strict with the SC rules. But rules have relaxed alot. I have heard that the OSC in Hawaii is running pretty strict. I have a couple buddies getting ready for it. No CA/hpa, 40 rounds & Horizontal feed only. Here's a couple links.
