I think that the seller (oddball) is legit, just new, and young. He didn't know what third party trading was, and since his parents didn't know either, they told him he had to get the money before he shipped. This sounds exactly like what my parents would say around 2 years ago, before they understood that I knew what I was doing better than they .

Oddball, now that you know about third party transactions, you won't confuse the buyer when you try to get him to send the money first. Since you don't have feedback, you probably won't find someone to send the money first. However, you can offer third party trade, and most likely the buyer will have to pay for it, if you're selling for a good price.

Good luck with the trading guys.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

This thread wasn't made for you and I go to back and forth on what happened, thats what PMS are for.
I did talk to youlast night about this.
You messeged me while I was away and firmly told me, NO Third party trading, and that I'm to ship first.
I refuse to deal with people like that.

      Have a nice day.

To Everyone else: Thank you for your feedback and input.

This is exactly why I never deal on paintball boards anymore. A minor can not, repeat, can not enter into a contract. If a minor decides to screw you over, you have no recourse.
Deal through and with a dealer or buy new through a shop or online dealer.

I tried to deal with a kid in Michigan over an RT body. I had to get help from an AO'er near him to get my goods.

A minor can screw you over and get nailed. It's still called mail fraud! Especially if you mailed the check. While minors may not enter into a contract, they still can break the law.

K, but if prosecuted, the legal guardian can be tried FOR the minor. So technically, they do not have a loophole if they are a minor.

I think he meant a legal contract. But I agree with you that not all minors are ignorant traders that tyep lkie dis. thefool and I have many smooth transactions under my our belts, ranging everywhere from grips to Racegun packages, and never once have either of us ever made the other party feel that they would need a third party. Clear, concise communication and means of backing up everything you say (pics, anyone to put in a good word, phone calls, etc) will make everyone a lot more comfortable.

Thats actually on a very technical note, wrong. A minor can enter into a contract, it just is not at all binding.

I dont think this kid was trying to stiff you. He was just trying to handle the situation but he had no idea how to handle it. I really dont think he was going to intentionally screw you, he's just learning how to do business without any tips or any advice.
