    Tank Damage?? PICS inside

Hey there! I purchased a 70ci 4500psi crossfire stubby tank about 2 months ago brand new from a local paintball shop. Now ive used this tank once, and I have always used an NXE tank wrap to protect it from damage. Ive never dropped the tank or smashed it against anything at all. Well when my friend was over and he noticed what seemed to be a piece missing. Upon further inspection it does certainly feel like a piece is missing but if you look at it, it does not appear to have any cracks, chips, or other damage, it just seems like theres a triangular piece missing. Here is the pic

am I just being anal? or is the tank really just wrapped in carbon fiber like that?

does it feel like a sharp division? or is it still smooth? is the fiber wrap showing? if you are that worried, get it hydro'd. im willing to bet it is just wrapped like that though.

no fiber wrap showing, and everything has resin on it, and yes it just feels like a sharp division or end I should say. I was just thinking it was wrapped like that because of the directions of the carbon fiber.

It's definitely just the wrap pattern. Enhance your calm, John Spartan.

You can always send it out to be re-hydroed of you are nervous. www.tanktesters.com does a great job. Fast and cheap. Two traits rarely associated with paintball.

just wondering if there would be any other explanations as to why the tank is like that. Does anyone else have this on their crossfire stubby tank?

It is most ppls opinion that it is the carbon fiber weave pattern that is wrapped around the tank. IIRC a HPA tank is a thin aluminum cylinder with a carbon fiber clothlike material wrapped around it, that is then sealed up and covered with resin to hold it all in place.

Your area of interest is just an area of aluminum where the weave wrapped around ended and wasn't covered to the same degree as the middle area of the tank. The testing done for it to be sold is reguired by law and would have already been through some safety rigors to pass and be sold. Your tank is like all other tanks.
