Far better to have an advocate make the laws than to have some politician who has no idea make them in the face of a public cry after a tragedy. Sometimes its far better to be proactive than reactive.

just a bit of creative thinking... but what constatutes playing paintball. if it was worded like "any action involving a paintball marker" would you have to where a mask to get shot at by the riot squad armed with pepper balls?

        oy,

the folks causing whatever disturbance prompting the use of pepper balls would be tactically smart to wear goggles - but then, chances are, once they get the crowd going, they head for the hills...

pepper balls; this is not a paintball 'thing', its a law enforcement, crowd control, etc., thing.

Thats like saying before an officer draws his firearm to shoot you he needs to put on safety goggles and hearing protection

you would be right... but i dont belive its an actuall law that you have to have googles and hearing protection on to shoot (hunting?). i just dont know if i really like the fact that some one could be arrested for not useing a barrel condom... i know you wouldnt get arested but its still kinda the same thing. also would this apply to non fields

actually there there are laws imposed by OSHA that regulate the use of eye protection and hearing protection
paint ball fields ( meaning the playing floor )do ( of course ) meet the requirement for eye protection and as such the protection used must meet or be greater than ANSI Z87.1-03 protection standards- that is the law across the hole country

there are some fields the likes of which i'm sure every one has gone to at least one time where the netting and enviroment were poor enough that if the ever were inspected they would either be shut down or fined and a mask at all times rule would be imposed by law OSHA has that kind of power

Strange that there isn't anything about barrel plugs/condoms in there.
