    My Mag Complete...A Mag Story

Well, after about a year, My Mag is complete...here is it's story:

5-6 years ago when I started playing paintball, Mags and Cockers were kings...but I never was involved enough to actually buy one. However, with the resale plunging on markers...and automags aging...I was able to pick one up on Ebay for $66 + shipping.

So, I did my research....decided what I would want to add to it...and started work.

The first problem I encountered was with CO2 and leaking. The Mag was in rough shape and leaking. I was also freezing the valve with my CO2 despite having an expansion chamber. So, I bought a cheap 47/3000 HPA tank and a parts kit.

I wnet through the valve religiously...but ran into more problems. So, I decided to take advantage of the star program. Turned out, I had put the on/off pin in backwards...there went my star.

After I got the marker back, I installed the level 10. I got rid of the X-Chamber (didn't need it with HPA) and duckbill and replaced it with a drop, ON/OFF ASA, and an AGD gas-thru foregrip. I purchased a variety of barrels.

Finally, earlier this year I purchased a better HPA tank (68/4500 adjustable) and an Intelliframe and I did the Intellifeed mod wiring it to my 12V Revy.

    Here's the final product:

    Performance?
Well, air efficiency has been poor...I use all of that 68/4500 in a day's play.
I've had some chrono issues...primarily the mag shoots high with the first shot...the low...then with some manipulation of the velocity adjuster...it settles down. But it still gives me a +/-12fps which is a little unstable for my tastes.
I've had very few breaks...maybe 3-6 balls per case...usually because I'll short stroke and manage to get two balls to collide in the barrel.
It' performed awesome. Each field I go to I get compliments from the old timers on my "old school" marker. The accuracy is great...it's quiet...a little on the heavy side with the big tank and everything...but overall I'm very happy with it.

My next AGD project is to build a more upgraded model...a minimag with an X-Valve, ULT, and warpfeed.

Very nice classic and it sounds as if it has some sentimental value to it as well.

Wow... I can't remember what it feels like to have a single tank fill last a WHOLE day...

When I choose a tank system the big requirement is that it last a full game or 2 at MOST. 4-5 fills a day? yuuuuuup

3-6...per case...and not one was a chop...all were barrl breaks. So, essentially...the Level 10 has not chopped one yet (knock on wood).

It holds sentimental value simply because I've spent so much time learning about it and working on it. It holds slightly more sentimental value than my Raptor Silver Eagle which I also have put alot of time into...but a little less than my Model One Spyder I've played with for 5 years.

intellied feeds are great on warps you can hold down teh trigger to prime your warp feed if you shoot all the balls out of your loader before reloading.

I love to go to the field with my cocker on CO2 and a gravity fed hopper. Especially if I go somewhere that people don't know me.

I usually only get away with it one or two games though.....
