When Do I have to Change my AGD Detents

Just as the title reads when do I have to change my AGD dual ball detents? As I was putting my mag back together after a days worth of play I was screwing in my AGD detents (hand tight only) and noticed that the little rubber oring seems to be protruding out as I screw the detents in. Ive been doing the same procedure for about a year now and seem to have only noticed this incident now. Whats the going rate for a pack of these shipped from tuna TMS or any other vendors? thanks

You only need to change the ball detent when the white delrin ball comes flying out of your barrel

Do you have a plastic washer/c-clip on your detent as well? Mine has a black plastic washer thing that sits between the ULE body and the o-ring as you screw the detent on, which seems to prevent the O-ring from deforming.

You might as well replace them. Eventually, when they fail, you will hate yourself for not buying some when you saw the warning signs. Always better to be prepared than screwed...

Fake Edit- Sorry I can;t give you any tech advice. But that's the best I can do.

its fine, the oring just makes sure you dont screw the detent it too far.

i dunno when they need to; i'm assuming its when you have issues with them. i got an extra one because the one i had was scratched. i really dont need two, but i do need something in my tool kit to keep it from being empty

do you shoot so much that you actually wear the white teflon ball down? how long did they last you?

I will try and post a pic of the plastic washer/spacer if I get a chance. I guess it is also useful if I need to use an Angel detent that isn't the right size for the ULE body.

The only other reason I can think of for your o-ring deforming out of place when you screw the detent in, is that the O-ring has stretched or weakened due to paint, water, dirt and wear & tear, when your marker gets dirty from the elements and when you clean it.

Have you tried replacing the o-ring with a new one? The solution may be as simple as that.

As for the detent itself (the white ball), there is no need to replace it until:
                    a) it falls out, due to wear
                    b) the spring weakens and is not strong enough to prevent the balls from feeding past the detent

I Had one go out this weekend during a great shootout during the Blanding game. The ball flew out and the spring was stuck in the breach but still connected to the detent body. It kept locking up my lvl 10. Had to leave during a great fight - that sucked.
