I recently picked up an 05 Speed as part of a trade.. I noticed that it doesn't like anything about 850 in a tank -- should I be ok with my 800psi HP Crossfires? I thought Angel's required LP tanks?

800-850 psi is considered HP. I believe that 450psi is the max you can run into the gun. -
LOL, I know what HP is!
I downloaded the 05 Speed manual and it says not to exceed 850 PSI into the marker, but I thought that sounded fishy.....

I know on the older speeds you can remove a shim or two and that will make the gun work on a HP input. but im not sure about the 05 speed.Originally posted by TollI always did the spring mod to my regulators for my angels, so maybe there's a a similar mod for an 05
I ended up resurecting an adjustable reg for one of my tanks just for my 04 speed. I didnt want to buy a lp tank and I really didnt want to start playing around with the reg on the gun.
I dont know what WDP was thinking with this whole LP-input thing. Maybe they should have just made a better reg.Comment

I have two HP crossfires.. I emailed them to see if they had a LP spring/kit/whatever that they could sell me for it. We'll see.

Hey whats up, here is the deal: you wont hurt your Angel with a high pressure tank. You wont be the first person to do it so if youre jonesing to play go ahead. The only real reason I've ever heard to use L.P. tanks is for consistent velocity. What people tell me is the stock Angel reg on the 05 speed and a4 fly fluctuate when you put 850 Psi into them. You may not be as accurate and you might have to play with the gun chronoing between 260-290. I have seen this on my speed with the stock reg even though my dual reg centerflag was set at 450. Whatever, it never stopped me from shooting someone

yea look in the ultimate stickys in the wdp forum on pbn. there is a step by step procedure with pics that you can follow. or you can always ditch the reg and get the cp reg and http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...IAAAEDRP_O1UdFOriginally posted by cdacda13I know that you can do the mini-reg mod on most angel regs. You just reverse the spring stack. My Guns: chrome and black pump mag
-black 2k sniper 2
-32* vision imp with ups, ECS, reloader B
-was'd imp w/ i-frame and all ups, warp feed

On the Angel I owned, I ditched the WDP minireg for a Stabilizer.
But yeah, a HP tank is perfectly fine, just as long as your inline reg can bring it down.Comment

Be careful using HP on any of the newer Angels. I've heard quite a few stories about the guns working fine on HP and then one day the piston in the reg suddenly fails. Usually causes damage to the reg I believe.

Use LP, the minireg mod works on 50% of Angels it is performed on and long term (or very short term) the piston gets destroyed, the forums that reccomend this 'mod' are the ones connected to the resale of the parts...so what do you think they want you to do
HP can work on the later Angels however the minireg is throttled right back and doesn't work consitently the moving of the dwell to compensate just makes for a very inconsistant Angel. It would be nice if it was designed for HP but it isn't so go with what it was designed for.
This is yet another reason for having an adjustable air source as when you change markers you don't need to buy a new air system. I am servely anti preset HP or LP due to the way in which they have to be mounted and the accident waiting to happen with this fitting arrangement plus the additional items needed to bleed the air from the hoses, which an adjustable takes care of by design.
This is another subject altogether the Preset v Adjustable however to correctly set up an Angel you need an adjustable air source anyway, what you use afterwards is your choice but the LPR setup etc is all done with a specific pressure rating (LED, LCD, IR3 is one pressure all Angels afterwards is another) and not a single preset HP or LP is made at the pressure ratings needed.
The concept of a the preset is good but despite what sponsored/used to work for the company users on here might say tank to tank they ALL vary in output and this is HP or LP...just another reason to have an adjustable.Comment

Thanks mark.
Since I have 2 HP crossfire's, I'll probably send one in to become a LP.. I can use LP with all my guns anyways.

Thats cause the Angel Minireg sucks.Originally posted by MarkMHP can work on the later Angels however the minireg is throttled right back and doesn't work consitently the moving of the dwell to compensate just makes for a very inconsistant Angel.
