AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
PK Selective Anodizing - Not doing paintball guns anymore?
I just called them to find out. Over the phone less than 5 minutes ago they told me it is news to them. They are still doing markers. They are rumored to blow off email requests. Best to call direct and talk person to person...
any update on this? is it true that they are only doing simple anodize jobs and no more of the fades and such?
I called and they say they are doing pb markers, but didn't say to me anything about limiting what they do. I don't know yet. I'll have a custom order in the next couple of months. I'll fight tooth and nail if I have to just to get them to do the work if I have to. Or maybe just pay them more money. Money is always good when you want something done.
"OK, I will look into it. I thought you guys were still into the trick anodizing business, how long you been out of it?"
"I do not know, a couple of years I guess. I have not done anything in years and our last custom guy quit a couple of years ago."
So sounds like they have not done any real fancy stuff for a while. They can still do solid colors and "simple" fades according to a few people I talked to over there. Others told me they flat out don't do paintball guns anymore.
I was basically told they don't have anyone that does the trick anodize jobs anymore, and basically nobody has the time to do the custom work. It's a shame, they did some nice work. I wonder where their anodizers that did all the custom work went too?
Looks like they mostly do stuff for Silicon Valley and industrial industries now. I don't even think they are doing the guitars and artwork anymore either.
