    Barrel kit shopping

    Hi,

I currently have a Truth series barrel from WWA, it's working nice but I think I could get even better performance with a barrel kit.

Since I'm using small bore paint I'm looking for a kit with a good variety in the .670 to .691 range. Right now I think my best bet is a freak kit. Am I right ?

Anybody has any suggestion ? Should I invest my money on something else ?

    Thanks!

The Freak is overpriced. There's better stuff out there for less. Powerlyte makes a great kit, the Scepter. I'm very pleased with my WGP Kaner as well if you have an A/C threaded gun.

yeah I have a mag with cocker threads.

what do you think of a WWA Justice series with some freak insert, what that be a good option ?

I like the scepter a lot but the smallest insert is a bit big for my need.

I'll take a look at the edge kit.

id get an ultralite with the smallest bore you can find and then maybe a nother extra small bore. i used to be uber crazy about exact paint matches but now id rather shoot a smaller bore than a "perfect" match for the simple fact that i get a more consistant fps and for some reason i seem to get less breaks ( i think because there is less "bouncing" around in the barrel if the ball is a littel to small)

Sanchez Machine makes the nicest barrels I've used. Highly reccomend them.

I've had freeak and edge and stiffi, I kept the edge. For the money it's the best and for the weight, looks and shooting it's also the best IMO.

what color is the Edge kit, in the pics online it seems dust black, is it really dust or gloss ?

                    thanks for the feedback guys.

IIRC the dust one is the ceramic kit, you can get colors in gloss so i assume there are gloss black

It's listed as a dust but after using mine for a while it's more glossy. Not real shiney but has glossed up quite a bit. I mainly use the .691 and 14 inch and you can see which one I use the most when they are in the case.

I just drilled out a stock barrel I had , bore of 691, and made it compatible for freak inserts. Works AWESOME and such, good stuff.

i love my Lucky 15 set from warped sports. single piece with a 12" effective barrel length (before the porting starts). the perfect barrel for mags according to TK's barrel efficiency article. the only problem is the smallest bore is .685 (but i personally use quite large paint)
