Guys,
Last weekend I had a horrible outing due to my paint. (Proball bought at Pevs - 3 weeks old, but not out of bags until the night before) I got the field and was chronoing the Emag (stock barrel) and was getting break after break in the barrel. (At least it wasn't chopping) I then tried to chrono the Timmy (Freak with correctly sized insert) and it turned into a power painter!!! Not only was I getting barrel breaks but paint was literally oozing out of the ACE eye covers. Now no gun can avoid breaks down the barrel - especially if the paint is fragile - but the Timmy isn't susposed to be breaking/chopping in the breach.
I then tried the old standby, the gun that in one year of play only ever broke a single ball (down the barrel, and it shot clean - I didn't even know until cleaning that night and I found some paint residue.) before - my 2000 v-force shocker. It broke at least 1 ball out of every 10.
I was determined yesterday to purchase a "premium" grade of paint to avoid any issues this weekend - I was furious the last - as I could not finish a single game due to severe breakage. Anyhow, I purchased a case of Inferno last night at Pevs Woodbridge, took it home and did the bounce test. Out of 10 balls 8 were NO BOUNCE - the split in half as soon as they hit the floor. 2 bounced a single time, then broke.
I'm going to see if Todd or Rob will exchange the paint for me - but in the mean time I thought I'd post here and see what peoples opinions were regarding the matter.
I did the bounce test as soon as I got home to insure nothing I did storing the paint was a problem - looks like Tom's tech article on paint is right - the manufactures are making the stuff WAY to fragile these days.
Anyone have any suggestions on good 5-8 bounce paint to try? I saw Todd on the way out of the store and he said the Inferno would be great in the Timmy (I trust his opinion) but I'm thinking its going to be to weak.

I had read Tom's article a while back and didn't think much of it until last weekend. When I got home with the Proball It was breaking on 2-3 bounces - which is why I was worried last night about the Inferno breaking on the first drop. Until last weekend I never bounced my paint so it just goes to figure...
