    Question on micromag/micro emag bodies

I was wondering if micro emag bodies accept vert ASA's from regular micromags. Aren't they the same body essentially? Just curious, because I have been told that they don't.

The micromag body does not have a rail. The gripframe mounts directly to the body. There is a special adapter that is needed to mount a vert ASA. Some expansion chambers have this design incorporated into them. So no, a standard rail-mounted mag vert ASA won't work.

Also, the micro e-mags have the battery pack where the ASA is normally so this is not even an option.

    Hope this helps

No, i dont think so. The front of the body appears to extrude further than on a normal micro which accepts the micromag VA's.

So your asking will the vert asa adapter from the powerfeed micromag body fit a vert micromag body? I don't see why not unless the slot is a different size on them, they should fit. The Micro EMag body does have a slot for an asa adapter since it is the same body you find on vert micromags.

I'm sorry, I should maybe have been more clear. What I meant was, can you put a vert ASA from this:

          onto this:

oh so you want a vert asa on an actuall Micro Emag? Then no. The asa adapter should be compatible with both bodies but the asa adapter is not compatible with the emag lowers. That's where the battery is mounted.

              ya huh

Wrong, you CAN put the vert adapter on your Micro - same connection on front of body as the black picture actually. Normally PTP sells a silly duckbill thing that set screws into both sides of the "wedge" in the front on the Emags so you cant see it.

You would lose the battery pack, and have to trim the adapter plate ( Supid AGD tolerances )

Are you looking to remount the battery somewhere else?

He would also have to cut the front of the Emag lowers where the battery mounts to fit one, and then there's no going back.

No, I was looking to put a vert ASA on a micro emag body. I like the vert feed, and can't find any regular micromag bodies in vert feed. Sooo...I figure take a vert feed micro emag body, remove the battery pack, and put a vert ASA from a regular micromag on it instead. This is for a new pneumag project, and I need to have a vert ASA to tap the front of, so I can mount the LPR...

                  Thanks for the input guys!

To make it more clear, I was thinking of buying this exact body/bat pack for a micro emag. Now would it be possible to put a vert ASA on instead of the bat pack (the bat pack has been sold, so it's just the body now), or am I going to have to find Emag lowers instead?

lol, yes a micromag vert asa adapter will fit that vert micromag body your interested in. Like I said in my first post, the Micro EMag body does have a slot for an asa adapter since it is the same body you find on vert micromags.
