    Shocker Owners Please Help Me!

    Hey, How can I tell if i have a ds or ls shocker. I took off my grip frame and there was a silver piece with this little clear plastic bump in the middle of it. Is this an LS or DS??? If it helps my shocker is a basic 4x4 splashed, that came with a double trigger guard but only a single trigger...

      Its a LS Shocker.

      LS = 2k Shockers. And 2ks+ had 2x trigger guards w/o the triggers.

      Also, check the serial #, it should be 20k+ .

          My serial number is 008470 though.... You said it should be 20,000 + ??????

              Thats wierd.....It could be a older body SP had lying around, but the gripframe is from a 2k LS.

                      Beach- if the board has a small silver square block with a tiny clear plastic round dot in the center, that's a "dome switch" board, you'll need the RIP-2 kit.

                      The LS- 'lever switch'- boards have a black plastic switch with a thin silver lever that clicks.

                      You can NOT trust the SP serial numbers- I've never been able to figure out the rhyme or reason behind their numbering, but I know I've had in at least one so-called "2000" vertical-feed Shocker with a lever-switch board, that had a lower serial number than my circa-'98 standard 4X4.

                      Near as I can figure, they machine piles of parts, and just grab at random when assembling a gun.

                          Hey this is Doc from Doc Machines right? So I should buy the rip kit 2 for my shocker? When I bought it, I could just send in my gun to you correct and you could install it? Having a DS style board wont give me a worse trigger will it? It will still be short and comparable to an angel's?

                              There is only one Doc Nickel, Beach.

                              And yes, if you have a "dome switch" board, you need a RIP-2 kit.

                              The RIPs are designed to be do-it-yourself installs, though the R2 requires very minor soldering. I'd be happy to install it for you, however, if need be.
                              And yes, I designed the RIP Kits to give Shockers an Angel trigger feel without the cost of an all-new gripframe.
