    Are mags worth upgrading anymore?

Im getting back into the sport after taking a couple of years off and trying to make a gun decision. I have 3 guns now a mag, old STO cocker, and phantom. Im kind of sick of the cocker and deciding on a new gun. My 68 mag is pretty sick though I like it alot but if I decide to make it my primary it needs upgraded I want all the ULE body parts and X valve, ULE trigger, etc. Maybe even just make it an Xmag but were talking 500 dollars in upgrades if I want to do everything I want.

Is it even worth upgrading a mag anymore or should I just look into one of the new electros? Im asking because the last time I was on this site was a couple years ago I think(right after Tom left) and now that I come back there is absolutely nothing new that has came out from AGD. It kind of makes me wonder what direction the company is heading and if im gunna always be able to have parts/upgrades/etc. for my mag if thats the route I go.

For Torny ball IMHO it's only worth upgrading electro mags, the x mod software means they fire at an insane ROF, then again it does depend how seriouse you are taking your torny ball.

have you played recently? that might influence your decision.

I personally believe the mag can compete, especially with the Xmod software out. It may be a heavier gun with not all the options, but it can still hold its own. Also do a search for the pneumag, you could probably do it for 100-150

Be ready to pay for an Xmag if you can find one. On the other hand, Phizz has some nice emag lowers for sale, and an Xvalve.

check out the xvalve trade in deal under xvalve at airgun.com. you can trade in your uld 68 valve and save 100 bucks off an xvalve! check it out. This might apply to you, Im not sure though.

Is it worth it? Not *really*.

Do you want to is the real question you should ask yourself. Is my mag worth all the money I've put into it? From a financial standpoint, probably not. Will I ever get rid of it? Hell no.

I dont think you will ever ever have a problem finding parts for Mags.

^^ Agree. Compared to newer guns, you'll get more bang for your buck, financially speaking. But with the 'Mag, you'll get better bang for your buck! (That marketing class wasn't a waste after all!)

I say, if you love your 'Mag, up it. I've shot many and owned a few, and they just don't "feel" the same to me. That's why I will always have a 'Mag somewhere in my armory.

*I should also add, how ever much you put into your 'Mag is how much you'll get out of it. All of the dealer's upgrades and accessories are real top notch and high quality, so don't think it'll be a waste upgrading it.

Its not worth it to upgrade a old mag unless you want to take your time doing it.In the B/F/S forums you can find great deals that wont hit you in the pocket so hard.I think Mags do just fine in the Rec/Scenario play but like others have stated if you are going for the tourny scene there are way better cheaper options out there.

If you are going to trick out your mag get some sick deadly wind upgrades, and a vert frame, that will be cool. I personally reccomend the Ygrip It is so comfortable.

Umm... software. Trigger systems for there electronic markers. Eyes for all there electronic markers. A system that allows one to shoot lower into the tank. A system less tolerance dependent.

i would reccomend trying to part out your urrent mag.thatll get you around 100-150 dollars depending on your valve .tell you the truth i did it and ive spent around 800 on 2 guns.was it alot of money?hell yes .were there other things i could have done with the money?hell yes
am i dissapointed in any way?hell f*&^%$ no.i love my mags and there are the only guns i will use.if you like your mag now just wait until you do upgrade it.

and im gonna bring it out in the open.for the first 2 weels with my mags i put all of them on one side of my bed and slept on the other side. i love my guns more than anythin else i do or will ever own\.

if you want a sweet customizable semi for rec/woods i'd recommend it. You may have trouble finding parts, but mags are still great semi's/mechs.

As for making it an x-mag/e-mag, you can do it, but it will costly, and possibly overkill for rec/woods. i'd reccomend it if you want to play tourney style. x-mod is great.
