Ok, I was selling an item. One person told me they would take it, and send me money Monday night. I told them ok I would hold it till Monday night. Tuesday morning, and no money or communication... is it wrong to now sell it now to someone else?

I've been having alot of this lately too. If he said he was going to paypal, than I'd say go with someone else if you get the offer. If MO, than you might have to wait to hear back from him. I think I'm gonna have a new rule that I only hold stuff for 24hrs, if I dont have the money in my paypal or a pm saying the money is sent, it goes to the next guy.

i have gotten a no holding policy now

because people usualy say yeah iw ant it but so and so and so on i cant have or get the $ til so and so. but will you hold it and il def buy it.

then a week or two later with no contact they say sorry i cant get it because so and so.

if they want it they need to get the $ and have it ready, il take a MO, but i need some sort of verification that it is being sent otherwise its going to whoever has $ now ready to pay.

I had no problem holding Saturday till Monday, its not an unreasonable amount of time. However, when I don't get the money Monday (was told paypal), or communication, I guess I was looking for reassurance that I was right in selling it.

I would wait an extra day. Maybe something came up and he was unable to send the money. Maybe he found he didnt have enough money. Or, maybe he is having second thoughts. I always check with the potential buyer before moving on.

Or, I will make it clear to the potential buyer that I will only hold it unless a new offer, which is at least $35 more has been made. At such a point, I will immediately sell it to the second potential buyer.

Note: $35 is just a random number. More of a percentage than a set numerical value.

I always tell them I will hold untill ###date. If they run into any problems pm me otherwise I let it go to someone else.

I always try to tell a seller that I will or will not take the parts/guns I buy. Sometimes you find that someone else has a better one in a diff color, or find that you really dont need that extra piece after you look at your bank balance.

Up front, provide a detailed description of how long you will hold an item. Stick to it.

There is no contract. Just some kiddie saying he really wants it and his mommy is giving him his allowance on Monday.

Unless you are having a hard time selling it, go look for other buyers. They said they would have the money sent to you and haven't even sent you an e-mail. Screw them.

Monday night is monday night IMO.. if it's passed then it's passed.
