Its funny how people bag on ions for having a plastic shell when the Rail has a plastic frame and ya dont/wont get the same response

I work at the El Cajon store on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The frame and the trigger feel VERY sturdy and very strong. Dye likes to test their products at our field, so I remember when one of the techs said that he found a 'weak spot' and started smashing it against a tree. After like 7 hits, the weak spot broke. Not sure if they corrected that, but I'm suprised it stood up as long as it did. It comes with NPPL semi, PSP ramping and Millenium ramping. Not sure about air... nobody will let me air it up . I had the chance to shoot one at our field, the trigger is AWESOME once you adjust it. From the factory, the trigger sucks... but once you adjust it, it rips. Hard. Just like most high-ends, LP will work, but HP is best.

I know what you're saying, Chaos, but the ion had a plastic frame, ASA and body(shell) while the rail only has a plastic frame. Once the metal UL frames come out for them... yeah. They'll kill people

I don't like the plastic frame. It feels like it'll rip off. And I say so whenever asked about the rail.

I currently own 3 ions and have no beef with their plastic bodies. Mostly because it's just an outer shell that wouldn't hurt to have destroyed, and can be replaced for $30.

The Ion I have has a metal frame, a plastic cover on the reg and a metal asa. No major components are plastic, besides the body cover (shell).
