Collection for that lady that got shot in Longmont?

If I am breaking some kind of rule by posting this please feel free to shut this down, but...

I know we have all heard/seen this story before, but it really got to me that this woman has 3 kids and no health insurance. I was thinking that maybe we as the "real" paintball community might wanna get together some kind of collection for this lady. It might help to let the world see that "real" paintball players don't condone this kind of thing. I have no idea how the logistics would work it was just a thought.

This is rediculous, why do these things happen. It's unfortunate, but the truth. People in the world get shot and killed every day with real guns, and most people don't think guns are bad, only if they are misused. That's how paintball guns can be bad also. You don't see people as a gun owning community getting together for the people who are killed every day for gun accidents, do you? I understand where he is going with this, but it is yet another "that person was injured with a paintball gun, so paintball is for criminals" story. Every news station will her about this, and I think it should not have happened, but please, why paintball? Why do people think paintball is so bad when one accident happens? Once again, what about the hundreds of real gun accidents that happen in ayear, they don't all get press for it. But it's always paintball. Why do we have to look like criminals once again? I hate when these things happen. It makes us look bad. Im for the whos thing.

don has a good point at least IMHO, shootings are a dime a dozen but paintball attacks are horrid, ironic heh?

but any way. i think the fund would be a good thing im just a little weary of how well it would work and go over. if some one has the ability to step up and set one up i think it would be a good way of doing some PR work for the sport. and as a round about way of getting a nice edge in that real paintballers are good call the news station to get incontact with the woman (yes i know it sounds a little bad that im determining the best way to get a good word in for us but you know you thought it too)

          NPGA (National Paint Gun Association)

Paintball does not have an influecial and powerful lobbying group to crush all media gripes and concerns with.

Therefore, nobody cares what is said about the paintball community.

            Thank you SR_matt,

Yeah I was a little worried that it might look opportunistic, but being proactive is always better than just sitting around and moaning about how misunderstood we are
