there was another thread like this a few weeks ago about the same type of gun actualy, IIRC it was a very early micro mag, a sticker was used with bead blasting and then removed to have the shinny/matte parts.

Yours is the 290th Automag made. Take a look at the powertube and see if it is an original Level 5. Check HERE for the differences.

While it looks like a pretty old mag, I'm pretty sure it's NOT a lvl 5. The power tube tip is wrong, the original lvl 5s had barrels with a separate rear area that the ball dropped through from the feed (as opposed to the chamber being part of the barrel itself), and the springs were made of round wire, not square wire like seen in your pictures.

Looks like a level 7 to me. It seems like the power tube tip is soldered on, which is characteristic of a level 7.

The level 5 is the one on top:

Also, the barrel has the "feed hole" in it, which is level 7.

Still a nice looking marker, but I really doubt it is a level 5

AGD has always been about safety first.

1) I've never had black macroline blow out EVER and I use 1000 psi input
2) Macroline doesnt scratch anything
3) Macroline doesnt need shrinkwrap tubing
4) Black macroline has 1000 psi working pressure (3000 psi burst) and is as safe as it gets

Stainless is NOT the best airline available, now.

1. Its blown apart into fragments on many people over the years.
4. The line maybe rated but did you ever ask how high the fittings it goes into are rated?

Anyone in a serious industrial situation uses stainless lines. Sure macro is cheap and convenient but its certainly NOT as safe as it gets.

Actually, yeah. I've seen it first hand.

I used to run my Mag at 1200psi through GOOD macro with no worries.

These days the two are fairly equal.

1) Well, I guess you can tell everyone who has had it blow on them that youve never had it blow on you, and that it must not have happened to them

2) Neither does shrink-wrapped stainless.
4) Stainless line is rated higher, and is as safe as it gets.
5) Macro is effected by UV, and degrades with expsoure(sun).
6) Macro is very susceptable to heat sources, and is temperature rated because its working pressure is effected by heat.
7) Macro is susceptable to impact.

So unless you plan on
-not using it in the sun,
-or around anything that may be heated by the sun(like laying a marker on a car hood),
-or having it hit anything hard,
-or use it with CO2 on a hot day that can spike in pressure above its working pressure

... then Stainless>Macro.

About the only advantage of Macro over stainless Ive found is the ability to cut it to size.
