Short stroking question, and a possible fix to it.....

Okay. First, exactly what happens when a mag short-strokes? I read somewhere that the air is released before the bolt completely closes, thus pushing the next ball up the powerfeed/standard feed. "blooping it" was the term they used, I believe. That would, in turn, cause the next ball to be chopped in rapid fire. Right?

Now then, I started thinking about the new IR3's one-way fall feed thingy in the elbow, and I thought about how that could possibly elimintate chops due to short stroking (that is, if short stroking works the way i think it works...) simply becuase the one-way feed would eliminate the next ball from "blooping" up the feed tube, and therefore be ready to get expelled out the barrel. What do ya think?

No, it wouldn't... That's what a powerfeed does...

Hmmm... Well, could you at least tell me what exactly does happen when a mag is short stroked? I'm not sure you understand what I'm thinking about...

          Thanks for the reply!

            Check this out...

I found this thread in a search. It explains things pretty clearly.
