    3000 and 4500psi..????

OK... I'm new to the HP world and I need some answers. I need a HP tank for my X-valve I just got. A Crossfire HP tank is probably what I will go with... unless someone thinks different?

Now I know that 4500 can hold more HP and has more shots, but do most all paintball fields have both 3000 and 45000 fillers or is there just one type to fill both types of psi? Cause I was at a field recently and I only saw the 3000 filler.

    Please help!

    hmmmmm

    So you're saying I can fill a 4500 with a 3000, but not a 4500 in a 3000... right?

Certain bottles and certain regulators are only rateed for certain pressures.

      Think of it this way.

You can put 12 fluid ounces of liquid into a two liter bottle,
But You can't put two liters of liquid into a 12 ounce bottle.

I don't think he's asking for an analogy.

Many fields only fill to 3000 psi. If you never plan on being able to get 4500 psi, then there's really no point in spending the money on a bottle that can hold it. You'll have to check with your local fields to see if they'll fill up to 4500 psi or not. It's different everywhere. If you plan on ever using 4500 psi, I would say spend the little bit of extra money on a tank. The difference is incredibly convenient. Means you just have to worry about when you run out of paint, instead of having to worry about running out of both paint and air. Seeing those last few shots dribble out of your barrel because you ran out of air is always sad...

Crossfire makes good tanks. I have couple friends with them. You'll be fine.

Edit: I reread my post, and realized that It's not entirely correct in all situations. I generally refill my tank when I refill on paint. If you like buying a 112cu bottle and one fill a day, up to you. All day air is cheap around here. Also, I don't carry tons and tons of paint onto the field with me. I shoot hopper+4 pods and have about 1800 psi in my tank at the end. If I had gotten a 3000 fill, my tank would only have 300 psi at the end, which makes those last few shots a little... lackluster...
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

see what kind of fill station your field has
If they don't have a compressor... odds are they'll only do 3000 psi fills as it wastes precious limited air they do have to boost it to 4500psi. Most places with a compressor on site will fill up to 4500psi though if they have a booster.

My local field has a compressor at the main shop and they keep 3 scuba down at the fields. so at the fields you'll get a 3000psi fill, but if you want a 4500 fill you gotta walk about a half mile to the shop.

Just get a 4500psi thank, that way your prepared in case you need 4500 psi

BTW, if you have a 3000psi tank, they will only fillit to 3000psi if they can do 4500pi fills. Likewise, if they only doo 3000 psi fills and you have a 4500 psi tank, you'll only get a 3000psi fill.

Damn Pneumagger!! Good Point! just in case is a good point to throw some more money into it.

Also, where do I get a 4500psi 68ci HP tank? Any online stores? Action Village doesn't have one for cross fire... should I get a different brand?

              Thanks guys for the help

there are actually quite a few companies that make decent tanks in several sizes, I know that the Macdev Legionaire tank (68 ci only) is pretty much THE lightest tank you can get, but I have also heard that the Evil Scion (whatever size/type you want) had the fastest recharge rate out of most tanks -- once again hearsay-- just remember the tank, like most anything else you put on your marker is meant to suit the user, and their needs/wants.....simply put, its all up to you, what company makes the best, what size you want etc. the only thing I would suggest when getting a tank is get a 45 over a 30 due to the availability of air (depending on where you play or plan on playing) and the "just in case" theory.

I found you one. Also you might want to check out the new CP tanks. I have heard great things about them.

What do you have Pneumagger? Would you suggest Dye over Nitro Duck, Air America, Custom Products, Pure Energy, and Cross Fire?
