    Goggle Safety Story

BAMFhacker posted a response to a thread about Goggle safety. Here is the link

I requested he post the text over here as well. A very good read, and damned good reminder about goggle safety and what can and probably will happen if you remove your goggles on the playing field.

Maybe BAMFhacker can make new thread here and we can get it stickied, it is well worth it.

last week Sat i was playing outlaw paintball with some younger kids. I was long balling at an opponent, popping up and down, shooting off about 5-8 shots than droppping back down. I pop up to put some more paint at my opponent and theres another player walking right in front of the guy I'm shooting at.(mind you the boundaries are about 15 ft away and he's being lazy and cutting across) I have about 8 balls on the way before I realize this kid has his mask up.

Thankfully they all hit him in the chest...I yelled at him to put his mask on and called him a few names. Afterwards I kinda felt bad about yelling and calling him names in front of his friends. I tried to explain to him the importance of keeping his mask on. With a shrug he said "Has any body got hurt anyways?"

After reading that story, I don't feel so bad. I think I'll print it out and give it to him. This is the hardest thing to teach a new player. I had a kid pull his mask up, take one 2 inches under his eye, get yelled at till he cried, yet 2 games later he pulled his mask off again. It amazes me there arent alot more injury's in this sport.
