    Nerve getting on my nerves

I know this isn't a smart parts forum but I really don't want to go to there to ask this.

My son recently traded for a nerve.

It will fire, but the balls only go about 50 feet.

    We have:

Taken it apart, cleaned it and lubed it with shocker lube.
    Tried different barrels
Adjusted the dwell to all kinds of different settings.
Adjusted the reg to settings between 200 and 280.
    Adjusted the velocity

But nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong?

adjust the LPR, its the knobby deal under the barrel. also open up the back and make sure the silver hammer is pulled all the way back so the bolt lines up properly with it. nerves are nice guns, once he gets it working he will be happy with it.

      bolt?

Can the bolt be put in upside down like older autocockers?

I have only seen 1 nerve, and it was chopping and had a similar problem, but I left before they got it resolved.

Have you fired more than a dozen or so - sometimes O-rings will stick for the first shot or several (even well lubed)

check to make sure your bolts pin is down in the hammer grove.

You said you cleaned and lubed it....be sure you DIDN'T grease the bolt. If you did then clean it all off.

We have adjusted the lpr. I'll get him to check the bolt alignment. When we first got it, he lubed the bolt before we downloaded the manual. It's been cleaned.

He says he likes the feel of it better than the emag He was using. (NO I didn't let him trade that for it, he traded an autococker)

Make sure you are showing at least 200 on the gauge, good battery, dwell @30 (depending on noid), screw LPR in till it fires. If the bolt isn't connected to the hammer it will fire normally but then have shootdown till the balls roll out the barrel. This should answer all your questions. http://www.zdspb.com/ YDNA is the guru on these but you can get a lot of help here. http://www.pbnation.com/forumdisplay.php?f=252 We'll get you fixed up. The Nerve is a pretty increditable marker.

We pretty much did everything even checked the web site. I finally took it to our local store to get it working.
