We play centerflag frequently... but what I am talking is not going across to the others team side to hang it, make it "possible" (more likely) to be able to finish the game without eliminating the other team. Why are eliminations / flag possession worth points? I mean does a team in hockey get points for knockign someone down? winning the face off? having the puck?

Your record becomes W or L no matter if you win by five flag pulls or one. Five minute games, full five minutes, ten seconds between flag pulls and hangs, spare paint in the dead box

Because if you have 10 teams and each are fighting for placement, every point matters.
A 3 point elimination could be the difference between 1st or 2nd. I've seen it happen.

All good points. Youre headed in the right direction

The only thing that doesnt make sense is the spare paint in the dead box thing...why would someone need spare paint if they are out?

I'm thinking borrow a couple things from X-ball. Quick turn arounds (though I think ten seconds or so between points, maybe 20). Enough time that, when eliminated, you can spring back to the dead box and "reload" Or not... it might be better to just plan on playing five minutes with the paint you carry, it might move all the "spray" tactics towards late in the game, paint usage (even if you carried ten pods) would be a strategic factor, air tank selection, etc. Now, I am only thinking five minute games (or so), so our current "tournament" system works on a day to day basis. Basically an accessible X-ballish format with obvious changes to it, but taking the speed, and point style system from X-ball (or Davis's format if that is how we chould refer to it as).

So have I, and its retarded. I'm sorry, but major "sports" all that matters is if you win or lose (I understand the glaring counter example of Nascar).

but most of the time if someone gets the flag that team wins ...
good idea, thats wat i would be doing if i played like this

i dont think they should do a return becuase the game will be over in 30 secs just about everytime it all depends on who is fastest to the flag

Once the flag is returned have them hold the flag at the base for 3 minutes to win.

Not if you set the field up in a way that makes it possible to lane the flag station from nearly anywhere on the field
