New kind of bolt?

I remember seeing something about using magnets instead of a return spring...I didn't actually read it though, and I doubt it would be applicable, however if it were then wouldn't it be plausible to use either delrin, plastic, or even CF for the bolt as it would cut down on the rub/friction factor? just a thought.
