I am not completly sure, but I think the WAS board has a dwell fix for the FSDO. I can't remember what they call it.

There are lots of parts, a great deal of which do nothing, and some which actually cause problems. CoolHand knows quite a bit about them. I think YDNA has an info and tech forum dedicated to them.

Performance wise they are fully capable of keeping up with any legal shooting electro-pneumatic. If you like it and are comfortable shooting it, why would you want anything else?
You should have seen the Imp Coolhand used to to have. Hopefully he'll post here and toss some info.

The Few imps I had (stock or otherwise) performed pretty nicely, despite my unwillingness to learn to break down a new marker. It would shoot as fast as I could pull the trigger, and turned into a nice loaner before I gave it away. It's funny how the height of the marker didn't bother me at all, but I can't stand stand the height of a cyborg.

If anyone hasn't posted it yet, SP sucks.

I don't know if Ryan has anymore Imp/shocker frames. The last thing I heard mentioned was that YDNA bought off the last of his shocker/imp frames.

I realise this, I shot one of the impulses that the feednecks fell of of back in the day(wasnt mine obviously....). However, for a hundred dollar investment this gun isn bad, and i prefer it to an ion.

And before anyone has a coniption fit i'll say why. It is machined better that the ion, And I like the poppit platform better than the spool system the ion uses. Just my preference.

Don't let anyone get you down for your choice of marker.
Half of the time when these sucker's are bashing up'd ions or DM's or whatever else, theyre more than likely jealous that they couldn't afford one, or dont have one.

Whatever you feel comfortable shooting and ultimately enjoy, will be 'the best' marker.

Coolhand gave me some solid info about an old Amber light board I have. I wanted one of his vert frames for a shocker I had all of 15 seconds, but alas they were no more.

I think most of the not shooting as fast comes from poor trigger setup. Assuredly stock, but even many aftermarket triggers for the Imp. Didn't help it having a small trigger guard either.

I dunno about the trigger guard size. I've got some big honkin' fingers, and it was pretty comfy for me.
You must have buzz-boy sized hands.
And yeah, I recall the Imp board thread, Ryan is awesome like that.

I had a 32 Degrees Impulse when they were brand new, they were identical to every other Impulse ever made, save for the cosmetic milling.

The old skinner solenoids had a little better flow numbers. I had mine tuned with an LPR where it would pinch paint. Was never able to get one with the newer solenoids to do it.

IMO the Impulse is a fine marker for the money now. They're easy to work on and upgrade, and they're more or less bullet proof if you grease them once in a while.

They are NOT the most air efficient marker, so if that's a major concern, I'd look towards a Viking instead. They don't suck air like a FreeStyle, but they're no Viking either.

Speed is not an issue really. I have verified video evidence of this marker shooting a sustained 18 bps in semi-auto:

I've also got a video of an Imp with a Pred II board in it going 22 bps in PSP ramp. The markers themselves are quite capable, it's mostly the board that limits the marker.

You can find IMP parts pretty cheap now. Just make sure that you get the right ones. For internals, New Designz seems to be the way to go. The only ones I have heard to stay away from are Evil, but I have never used them to be able to give an objective opinion. I have all NDZ parts in my Toxic and a WAS board. No FSDO at all. That can be caused by a lot of things though. The WAS board is the way to go, much more adjustable than the Blackheart, and has a better eye.
