question about psp rules and mask

I have another set of lenses ordered for my proto axis mask, so I decided to play around with some new vinyl material we just got in and my current lens. It is a perforated vinyl that is made to be printed on and cover windows, backglasses, etc so that you can still see out of it but its harder for people to see in. I printed out a simple camo patern and put it on the lens and it looks prety good (although the blue of the mask doesnt go with it). I also just found out that I might end up playing in a tournament this weekend that I wasnt planing on playing in. My question is, by psp rules would covering the lens with a transparent type vinyl material be legal? PSPs website has their 07 rules listed as "coming soon" so I couldnt look this up.

Here is a picture of it, on a green or black mask it wouldnt look to bad at all, the lighting here also makes it quiet a bit more transparent in the picture then it really is.

I would think you'd be ok as long as it's on the inside...if it's on the outside and you got hit, you could pull off the vinyl layer (like they do in motocross races) and clear it like you'd never been hit. I don't see how having it on the inside gives an unfair advantage though.
    My feedback

Made in USA - it matters.

no different than mirrored lenses, and it doesnt effect the safety of the mask...should be fine.

It is on the outside, but there is no way you could pill it off. Also there are 100's of little holes so there would still be paint on the lens anyway. I hope its ok, just wanted to ask to be sure.

          Shouldnt be a problem

Same stuff these guys have been doing for years - great for outside and sunny, crap for cloudy days or under tree cover becaseu it makes it too dark really. The DEDBOYZ ones in the gallery under Custom are mine from years ago I was one of their really early customers.

I still use yellow Referee lense covers from them on my old JT's when I ref at the field - keeps e from taking head shots coming over the hills.

Oh and getting hit in the face SUCKS to clean up, best bet is spray bottle and a thick terry cloth towel to dab the paint out of the little holes.

On the lower levels at the PSP events I have been at the refs /staff at field level have been barely competent to run the tournament by the format in the rules, let alone get into equipment technicalities.

Thanks styg, thats the exact same stuff I have. I will have to look into advertising some designs a little latter as we have a 30" row and 6" row of this stuff, the 6" row is perfect for any mask or helmet.

                Thanks everyone for your help.

if that's on the outside, that is going to be fun to clean if you get gogged

                    sounds cool

Let me know, I might want to get some stuff done for just a strip accross the top of my Proto goggles with a logo or phrase of some sort. Up for some Tim Burton style lettering to spell out Bone Daddy?

I dont think I will do a full lense anymore, I liked them but they limited me to use those goggles for nice sunny days only.

Another benefit it has, it kills the glare on your lenses so you dont flash your oponents when the sun reflects off of the lense.

I already posted the most effective way to clean the lenses if you have these on - spray bottle and a thick terry cloth towel, and they clean as well as any other lenses. spray can cause some problems though on the field, becasu eit settles in the little circles, and can block part of your vision.

Now... if somoene can get the same stuff done on tinted vinyl instead of solid colored, that would be awesome!

I can print anything and with a good quality picture of the words on your marker, it would be very easy to design what you want. Also I have some solid clear vinyl, I havnt tried putting it on googles yet though. I might be able to do a clear to light black fade to give it a good view and slightly tinted, but I need to play around with it first. I will let you know how it works. Thanks for the tips on cleaning to, I will be sure to pack a spray bottle in my gear as well.
