yea

that is the cp regs purpose to lower the input psi, to that which works best for the gun/setup

look at is this way.
if you have a 4500 psi tank with no reg the tank will spit out 4500 psi of air out.
then you add the regulator and it lowers that pressure to a more suitable pressure such as 750 psi.
then you add a minireg and it lowers the ressure anywhere from 0 to 500 depending on where you adjust it.
