Along with what everyone has said about durabilty, consistency, and the elegant design, I always enjoy this conversation:

    They: What's that?
    Me: An Emag.
They: I've heard of those...I think...
    Me: I like it.
    They: How's it shoot?
Me: Try it. (flips it into e-mode)
They: (shoots) Wow, that's got a nice trigger feel!
    Me: Wanna see something cool?
    They: Sure!
Me: (flips emag into mech mode, puts battery pin in) Check it out, no power, still shoots.
They: (shoots) WOW!!!!! That's the coolest thing I've ever seen!
Me: (pulls battery pin, flips emag into hybrid mode) No, this is the coolest thing you've ever seen.
    They: (shoots) HOLY SCHNIKEY BATMAN!!!!
    Me:

I think with the 12th man emag, I may be having a few more of these chats.

Tinkering for one thing as I am entering the final stages of a shocker framed pnuemag ^.^

There's a ton of stuff to love about mags but the biggest and best of it comes from the fact that they are just flat out solid. In every way. Want to clean your minimag off? Air it up and take it in the shower with you. Dropped it? No big deal. Chopping paint? : Leve 10. You want to shoot really, really fast? Xvalve with 900+input...they are just all around solid choices

The only thing that is prohibitive about the mag is the cost. It's a buyers markets when it comes to used markers. I can definately understand people choosing a 2k5 ego instead of a powerfed emag that doesn't have eyes/ramping/etc when they don't understand what it is they're buying.

The only electro that has given my mag a run for it's money is my Viking, and I love it to death.

I love my Emag because it has a muscle car look to it. Yet when you pop the hood there is a powerful Xmod engine inside with the sound of a mouse fart. Oh and it shoots paint like Muhamed Ali threw punches in his prime.

I like the fact that they're solid and you can rest asured that it will be mistaken for a shocker

i love the fact that i am one of the only people around with one.
i love that its not mainstream.
i love that it sells because of quality and legacy, not because of hype.

nice posts on this thread, and I can echo all of them (except for the Emag since I don't have one).

One of my mags, I purchased off an old tourny player about 2002, it had been sitting neglected in a box with a bunch of other stuff, hadn't been aired up for several years. it did, however, have a nice SP splash kit, so that was a bonus. I thought....maybe it will be fine with a rebuild kit. I did a quick disassembly, lubed it up, and without actually replacing any of the o-rings, aired it up and it fired perfectly, no air leaking, not a single mis-fire or Phhhhft. All is well.

That's why I love the 'mag. plus the feel, accuracy, fun, dependability, and questions at the field. And I get to show it off to the guys working on their electro's.

I like my mags because each is special. My first decent marker, my first project marker, my best project marker. They are reliable, fun to shoot, etc.

It works much better when you pull the battery off put it in your pocket, and pull up and shoot another string of shots.

They are usually , and I reply

Another good trick is the old stick your finger in the breech, and pull the trigger. Scream, yell, etc. Then pull it out and say "no chops"

Because AGD accuracy & reliability beat youth and bad haircuts every time.

Took my youngest boy (Logan, 9) to play paintball for the first time. The local paintball shop that I like has moved to a new indoor facility- never been there before. They have a nice speedball field inside of a warehouse. He was by far the youngest, and I was the oldest by at least a decade. Nice enough speedball field but I vastly prefer woodsball personally. Different crowd in speedball....and my gear is woddsball-centric (I wear camo gear and a modified ALICE harness to hold my paint hoppers, for example).

OK...so we play a couple of rounds, mostly cut short by my having to monitor the boy more than the balls coming downrange at 200 mph and 15 rps. We were having a great time, but splitting one's attention like that is a recipe for getting nailed every time. I just wanted to make sure that he would obey the basic safety rules and not freak out when he got whacked....because it fecking hurts.

After a few games, it was obvious that he was fine...so I began to concentrate more on the game. My AGD Level 10-equipped Automag Classic is decidedly old-school compared to the full-auto Angels and Dyes out there, but the Armson rifled barrel I bought from Ebay really makes it incredibly accurate at long range- again, woodsball-centric. My RoF isn't too bad (as fast as I can pull the trigger), but I can't lay out the pray-n-spray paint like many of the autocokers can.

So...I worked it to my advantage. I picked a bunker way in the back and just started picking off people way in the back of the enemy side, one by one. I rolled to the other side and saw a guy trying to flank me on the outside. I lit him up like a Christmas tree.

Logan had been eliminated, but I could hear him yelling from behind the net, "Go, Dad!"

The inflatable bunker was getting hammered, sounding like a Bonham drum solo. I laid low, waiting for him to empty his hopper. It stopped, so I jumped to the next bunker over, set up my shot, and waited. The guy popped up at aimed for the bunker I was formerly in. He sarted sawing away, until I smacked him upside the mask with two rounds.

                                "Game Over!"

                                w00t!!

One of the refs walked by, "Great game, dude."

As Logan and I walked off the field, I heard one kid tell another, "Hey- watch that old guy. He kicked as$ in that last game."

                                Ego supercharge, or what?

(BTW- just picked up a nice RT from Ebay- looking forward to it).
