What about a break action gun like the old shotguns? Flip the barrel down, pop in a ball and snap it back up and then cock a lever on the end of the action.

Of course this brings up the idea of a DOUBLE barrel action with the two stage trigger so you get a second chance...

And then someone will come in with a "Henry" and ruin it all....
