More than anything, I think that it is a nostalgia thing. Back in the mid-nineties, they were one of the nicest brass barrels out there, and they had one with a sort of built-in suppressor system (which I think was basically heavily ported, and had a sleeve you put over it). They had pretty good customer service, too, from what I remember.

It is a nostalgia thing (for me anyway). The suppressed barrel in question is the BOA Concealer though the barrel wasn't all that heavily ported (4 rows of something like 7 ports each, Modern CP One-Piece barrels have more). Also in their line was the BOA Constrictor which had something kinda loopy with an O-Ring as I recall.

I started back when BOA was going out, it ended up being a barrel company that I miss about as much as the old DYE Stainless Steel barrels.

It's in great shape just don't expect it to look like it just came off the assembly line.
Y'know, BOA didn't have assembly lines. Each one was finished by hand. After the brass was cut and nickel plated, the honing, polishing, etc, was all done by hand.

The sell is from Canton, OH. BOA was from Northeast Ohio...wonder if there is a connection.

Make good paper weights don't they?

Seriously one of my favorite shooting barrels, loved the weight, and they were kinda snazzy looking to boot.

Does someone have pictures of the two different kinds? I have one on my minimag but never knew there were two different versions.

I'd post a picture of the one I have except Tunaman has it right now because my Minimag is with him and I left the barrel on it.

It's heavy as sin that's for sure. I didn't know it was nickel plated brass...I thought it was stainless steel.

BOA ( Barrels of America ) He shut down his business due to very bad back problems. they were hand made and alot of labor was involved. Our team was sponcered by them in the early 90's. ( Team 2 Xtreme ) out of Atlanta Ga. I still Have 2 of them on a Mini Mag. A 6" and a 12". They were one of the best on the market at that time. I still use mine when I play rec ball for fun. Still deadly accurate. Just a bit on the heavy side.

And yes I am old (48) and still play tourney ball when I can.

                            aka FATYODA the magic backman

                              Boa

Back in '96-'97 BOA was my team's first real sponsor, other than our local field. I remember that I didn't like the little rim between the barrel and the porting so when the team folded I got rid of the barrel.
