so here is my mag after i gave it a temperary paint after christmas, just normal spray paint,

very poor paint job and not very nice

Now, Here it is after its brand spanking new paint job

the black is a truck bed liner coat (black is re painted from first picture) made for a spray in truck bed, and the speckle stuff is a granit looking spray paint for sidewalks and stuff, so, it is a 100% scratch proof automag, i know people say spraypaint is bad in paintball because it will come off, well this isnt normal spray paint, but just to be sure there is a full spray can of clear coat on it and i wipe my gun after every round and fully clean after every game so i dont think i have to worry


black parts,
2 coats primer
5 coats spray on truck bed

Speckle,
3 coats primer (as recomended)
3 coats granite sidewalk spray paint

BOTH:
a full can of clear coat so about 20 coats of clear coat on the whole thing lol


the orange barrel tip is just normal spray paint


so what do you all think of this? better before? or better after?

frankly i'd run from it because a girl that has skin those colors isn't normal.

I think the problem over time is not the outside getting scratched, but the paint sticking. I think those are SS bodies in the old mags aren't they? What did you do to prime it? You did a good job, it looks cool! My old minimag (94) has a black pf body that is scrached a bit, I might have to try this.

I think you bigger concern is not paint chipping away from the outside, but paint flaking away from the body. It is difficult to get a good bond between paint and SS. You may want to be leery of extreme temperature variations that will cause thermal expansion, permitting the paint to fall away from the body.

i just put the ss hose back on, it has black shrink tube on it

just got another co2 tank and buttplate and a vents helix to go with it

This is similar to what I've thought about doing to my MiniMag for quite some time. I had it spraypainted Rustoleum matte black and that lasted quite well for a long time. I need to finish stripping and repainting it.
