I like it, and I do agree that it is a little sensative, and to an extent people need to get over the 911 connection, but then again I'd like to point out is there really a need for showing the destruction of a city preriod here?

For the first logo, I didn't even notice the buildings were crumbling, it just looked like a skyline. It wasn't until someone pointed it out and I went back to check it out, that I noticed, and it still wasn't very clear.

The second logo, I really like. The mushroom cloud looks a little funky, but it's a logo. I don't think people will be critical of how the mushroom cloud is shaped. Colors, check. Easy reading, check. The "Mass" might be a little small, but that's all I see. "Cool" factor, check.

honestly i never made any 911 connection until someone else mentioned it. then i continued to not make a 911 connection. the team name isn't "mass planes flying into buildings destruction" it's just a skyline. oh well.

The original text had a heavy metal look to it. Just put a lightning bolt or a hammer behind it and call it a day
