Heheh, i'll make better pics when i receive it. (should be friday) Payed for it yesterday so i cannot make any detailed pics of the valve yet. I bought all the stuff pictured, including the adjustable bottle reg its a govenair and the seller said it was really oldskool.

Also the promag logo is (sandblasted?) on top of the valve, so my guess would be the origininal engraving should still be there.

Tom, thanks for enlightening us about this piece of AGD history!

That sandblasted logo is the only one I have ever seen. It must have been done by John Sosta and very few at that because you had to make a sticker of the logo. I would definitely keep it as a collectible and if you ever want to sell it let me know.

You know it's something special when Tom would want to buy it!

Awesome find. It seems there's lots of good stuff floating around in Europe...

It really seems to be something special... I'll let you know if i sell it Tom, but chances are that's very slim. I still regret selling my PTP unibody micromag and i feel this is something really special.

It just seems i get darn lucky finding these mags. The micromag i had was found at a local paintball store after i posted on a few dutch forums that i wanted a minimag. I've tried to place an add last week on www.markplaats.nl (sort of ebay for the netherlands only) but they removed it due to some policy. (Owned by ebay btw) A few days ago i posted a request for mags on the forums again, and this turned up together with a classic RT. I turned down the RT because i knew this was the sellers first gun. (he helped me hook up with an RT before and i knew he will regret selling it) This promag was a nice find, but when the seller offered it to me i had no idea what it was.. Promag? (see topic title) But we made a nice deal and he has shipped it today, so i expect it to arrive thursday.

I was planning on using this gun, but after reading TK would like it in his collection it would be a real shame using a vintage gun like this.

Look what i found on my doorstep today!!

In all the exitement i forgot to take pics of the whole gun, but i made some pics of the internals because you guys wanted to know more about it.

Promagged valve internals, and to Tom: Yes the letters promag and serial number are sandblasted on top side of the valve, leaving the original engravings intact. Valve number is CF 05702

The on/off top has been modified as far as i can tell... (dont have a classic valve here for comparison, but looking at the cuts they were filed in)

Other side of the on/off top..

This is the only bad thing about the gun.. The rail and gripframe (WGP) have been repainted, and very poorly. Also the asa threads on the gripframe have been tapped to metric size M6 instead of 10-32 UNC, so i cannot fit a asa without modifing it to fit. I'll try to get replacements for both the rail and the gripframe.

I lubed the gun and gassed it up... no leaks at all but it does have the garden sprinkler sound when i press and hold the trigger, so i will have to replace the on-off o-ring if i'm not mistaken. No biggie, i have enough o-rings to keep any mag happy for years!

Here's my Promag. I bought it new in 1993 and still own it today. Valve was stock at purchase and I took it to John Sosta to be promagged a couple of months later, it was all the rage over here in the UK at the time.

Marker as it is now - still looks and works great, despite being 14 years old. It's more of an heirloom with an E-Mag & E-Blade cocker for tournament play:

                      Original AGD logos still intact:

                      Internals:

Original sales doc that came with it:

And finally, how it looked back in the 90s (yes, that's the same marker as above - grip frame/rail were replaced a few years ago, but body and valve are the same). P-Stock, 14(16?)" smart parts, matching green anno, 3.5oz expansion, paintball guns didn't get sexier than this back then :

How heavy was that bad boy with a 20oz tank as well!

Hm... I wonder. Wouldn't it be funny if some of the Ti valves became ProMags.
