    BPS counting with sound analyzing...

I know people have done this, but where do you get the program to do this? (free, legal programs) I searched, but since I didn't know any of the terms, I couldn't really find anything.

    Thanks.

Any type of waveform editor that shows the waveform will work. Try searching for waveform editor. I use ProTools and make a 1 second selection then count the transients (spikes) to give you the BPS.

Thanks. Do you know how I would mesure the sound in a .MPG file? It seems that all the waveform editors I can find want sound files. Is there a way to split the sound from the .MPG?

I use a program called ffmpegx. It separates the sound from the video of most types of video files and it converts all kinds of other things.
