Because theres a distinct possibility the little girl may only be three or four years old. You don't do things like that to a four year old over something as silly as paintballs. You never got money from the tooth fairy or had santa bring you presents? While those may be more traditionaly rooted examples, the idea is similar, you don't do sadistic things to little kids.........
