Sydarm showed up in the mail today!

Well I finally broke down and decided to get the Sydarm. I considered others, namely the Tiberius and Zeus pistols, but I finally went with AGD. IT was pricey but it's BNIB with all the stuff direct from AGD. I charged it up with a 12 gram, put 24 shots through it before it wouldn't cycle, gassed up again, checked for leaks. No problems!

Can't wait to chrony it, put some balls downrange and then take it to the field!

Here's some pics of this pristine beauty.

I will do a full report from the field as soon as I have something to report.

    Very nice!

Will it be your main weapon, or a backup?

Thanks, I like the fact the new ones are polished and not the matte finish of the older Sydarms.

I play a lot of role-play at scenario games so it will be my primary when I'm "in character". If I'm out in field play though it may carry it as a backup. I hear there are CA setups and other options that can be had for them so I may rig it up to be used as a primary, but right now my RT Pro fills that slot. :)

Nice. I'm eager to know how many shots you get before drop off. I've been toying with the idea to get one of these as my primary.

I've heard different views on gas efficiency, drop off, rapid fire, freeze-ups, etc.

          Mostly I've heard:

          Good:
          - It's super accurate
          - Reliable and tough as nails (it's a Mag.. duh!)

          Bad:
          - It freezes up on rapid fire
          - It's a gas hog
          - Has awful shootdown

          Ugly:
          - Tough to reload
          - CO2 changes are a PITA

So I'd like to confirm or dispell those points. I'm pretty anxious to get out and run this marker through its paces to find out if there are any truths buried in the rumors.

            sydarm ca

I would highly recomend getting a CA adaptor. I have a sydarm and freezing is a bit of a problem unless you play in a warm climate. Since the 12 gram is directly over the valve if you rapid the liquid does not get a chance to expand and get in the valve easly. With a CA adaptor you can fix the freezing issue by relocating the co2 below the valve. I run a 4 oz but a quick changer would be really sweet and make the 12 gram change much faster. The stock barrel is pretty accruate but a 10ish incher would help out a bunch. Ive had so much fun with my sydarm, hope you enjoy yours as much as i do.
Check out these pics http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/...um/HPIM0930.jpg i have the asa facing foward so i can still hoslter it with a 4oz with no worries.

I have two orginal sydarms, and they are polished.

                  Snazzy indeed.

I thought about getting one just to have one, but at the moment i'm still spending money on upgrading my other mags. i own a Tiberius T9 (same thing as the T8, just can be built into a rifle) and im pretty happy with it. Tiberius seems to have good quality and is as reliable as agd. Although, some metal parts will rust if not cleaned when they get wet, so its not all stainless or aluminum like the mags are. I just like the clip concept, because it makes reloading a snap and you can actually use it in long scenario games without worry of getting caught unscrewing to get a new Co2 cart in. No doubt i will eventually own a sydarm, but for now i think tiberius does an excellent job in the pistol department.

when I got my sydarms they had a piece of reciept paper included that had their field tst/chrono printed out and when I took it out it was set exactly how it said on that paper just to let you know.
