3.5 oz for a mag pistol... what do you think?

I'm all done with my pneumag... so I decided to build a pistol with the spare parts I have.

I've heard you can get 10-12 shots out of a 12gr. and rise it to 20ish shots with a stabilizer.

I'm thinking about mounting a 3.5 oz CO2 bottle under the barrel... would that be to big for a pistol? I never saw a 3.5 oz in person.

My other alternative would be to install a 12gr. and a stabilizer under the barrel... but the hose would be so long that the pression would drop too much in my opinion (but it couldn't be really longer than the 6 pack )

    What do you think guys?
    Thanks.

A 3.5 oz CO2 tank without a valve on it is: Dia. 2" Length 5.33" Weight 9 oz

besides, I'd steer away from putting any CO2 that it directly mounted in a horizontal orientation unless you really want to run liquid into the gun

You can mount a CO2 tank horizontally as long as you keep an anti syphon tube in it.

Keep in mind, that a lot of 12 gram changers have an outside diameter of 1". This means that you can mount the 12 gram changer right to the side of a Classic rail using scope rings, so the distance between 12gram and valve can be short. I'm building a ghetto Sydarm myself and this is how I'm going to mount the changer. I'l probably make it next week.

you can always get a 13ci comp air tank too

but the ebst bang for the buck is the 3.5-4oz tanks as theyr cheap, you get a good amt of shots and theyr fairly small.

I just mounted a 3.5 on my mag in the vertical asa. I shot a Winchester hopper of paint out of it and still had plenty of Co2 left. I had to leave home before I could really try it out.

Classic valve HR with a Dye 10" barrel. The darn thing is taller than what it is long but it handles like a dream. Definately a shoot and scoot type of gun. I got 15 good shots off a 12 gram before I put the 3.5 oz on it. The 3.5 is shorter than a "Spare Air" which is what I tested the set up with if that helps any.

Last week when I played, I got this out.

40/50 round brass eagle hopper. Boy did I get some looks. :)
With the short barrel, its kinda loud, but fun.

I was wondering about those 13 ci tanks also, anybody ever use one?
I thought somewhere I had seen a Palmers stabilizer, basically mounted on the valve, anybody ever try this?

Thanks for the dimensions of a 3.5 oz.

Anyone knows the dimensions of a 13ci HPA tank?

lots of fun. you can run it horizontaly by clamping a duckbill to it with scope rings and having a bit of macro making a loop so no liquid gets in. that works well with a 9oz too. horizontal 9oz with a foregrip and 50rnd was what i used for a while at camp blanding indoors. sorta a neat little smg setup.

I still hesitate between that setup and the 12 gr. on the side of the gun

Why don't you just get an old skool back bottle ASA? It would still be pretty compact that way with a 3.5oz.

Because I want a handgun type pistol. Others are 3 stages from the grip (air, barrel, loader); a mag will be only 2 stages from the grip (barrel, loader).
Plus, I want another project and my classic mag isn't serving any purpose... better using it.

I didn't know it was possible to fix a scope mount on the side of an AM/MM rail. Thanks for that info.

If anyone knows more details abour RRfireblade's way of raising the efficiency of a mag (devolumizing the chamber and adjusting the reg)... Any input would be really appreciated.

                          Thanks.

doc Z, I like that set up. What scope ring did you use that fits the rail?
(as I search for my Brownell's and Midway catalogs)
                            Thanks

                              I also saw that one:

It belongs to Big N' Solo. I might use that feed tube as I want a spring in it.
