    Styg needs a Mini Update

Finally got it, tuned it up and shot great over the weekend - Very impressive little gun, now if I could only get Tuna to make a trigger for it

I would like to thank all those that assisted by purchasing parts from my massive pile-o-parts thread a few weeks back.

Sweet markers. On the X, are those decals or did someone do some laser etching for you? And I love the wood grips.. I saw those on MCB and was considering a pair of them.

Nice mini too. they are ehhh as far as I am concerned. But they are allegedly nice.

Thats all laser work on the X -

The Mini is a nice little gun, have to really break it in to get the velocity a littl emore consistent, and would like to find a aftermarket wider trigger for it, something similar to the TunaBlade would be great. th eskinny trigger on it feels kinda squishy to me right now.

Back is healing well, I reffed a small private group for about 4 hours and did some work in the box at the field yesterday, and no real lasting effects. Little stiff and hoarse from yellin at kids all day, but fairing better than I had expected for my first time out on the field this year.

I'm still not playing yet, I promised my doctors and my wife I would take it easy until June before I go out to play, and do stupid things like propel myself over snakes and over trenches.

Figure that gives me another month to get my back in better condition, lose some more of this gut I have amassed over the winter, and get used to the heat from our Michigan summer coming up ( this 40degree to 75 degree jump between morning and afternoon is killing me )

Thanks for the updates on the Mini by the way, between you and Lohman, that's what convinced me to give one a shot ( and using my buddy Squatty as a guinea pig with A-tachs pre-order )

LMK if you want any Trigger mods done and I'll hook you up with the gun tech at my local shop.
He modified some 04 viking detents so that they fit on the mini. Works great.

Theres other aftermarket parts out there. Mostly from Rhythm Innovations specific to the mini. Go check them out too.

Are the 04 vking detents bearing style or that crappy piston style detent? If they are bearing style, I would love to pick some up. I usually end up turning the piston style detents into lttle aluminum rockets shooting out the side of my gun at one point or another.

As far as triggers, can you get a more direct view of your trigger? I want to get a trigger that had a wide face on it, so there is more area on the trigger to actualy push on. Basically like a Tunablade trigger if you have ever used one. Would that even be possible?

I'll try and borrow a digital camera and post a wider face of the trigger. It's pretty wide, it's about the size of the trigger slot in width. It barely fits in the frame for the one he made for me and with the additional magnet made the trigger return snappier.

As for the detents I use some o-rings to modify the detent size so the paint fits better and so far I've had no sticky detents since switching over. For the mini though, almost all are piston style. Even the killa magnetics models.

Looks good Styg! So, any future plans for a new anno on the Mini

By the way what did you do to your back? I had back surgery at the end of June last year to repair bulging discs and the first game I played was in Oct or Nov and I had to take it easy. I played again this spring and as long as I don't fall down or bend and twist myself into a pretzel then I am okay the next day. However, I am still having trouble losing the chub and fluff around the mid section

                      trigger and back -

hmmmm do you have a bearing in that trigger as well? If its as wide as the trigger slot, might be very interested in getting one. Been kinda watching for CP to put out the usual line of triggers for the Mini - noting new on their site yet though.

I actually put an AGD trigger magnet on top of the one on the trigger frame itself, it is not quite as heavy as putting the magnet on the trigger, but is a noticeable difference in pull. I like my triggers to have a physical feel to them, where I can feel the trigger and know I am pulling it. I might shoot a little slower than some, but I can still pull 14 or 15 bps that way - and really dont even see a need to shoot that fast even.

As far as my back, I had a Large chunk of my disc at L4/L5 removed that had been completly ruptured, split all the way through and half way accross. this Disc was putting pressure on the nereves in my back, and causing me a good deal of pain 24/7. I have 1 other protruding discs and another that is herniated, but they were not pushing on the nerves, so those were left alone ( 1 below/1 above L4/L5, and one I cant ) I had the same surgery on a much healthier back about 7 years ago, so I have to be a littl emore gentle on it this time. In Feb I was given the option of another discectomy ( what I got ) or Spinal Fusion - they take out the discs and fuse the lower 3 vertebrae in my back - 6-8 months recovery and lose 25-30% of my ability to bend and twist - but great posture

( Walrus, that switch look familiar on the Xmag? )

I think putting a bearing in can be arranged. He offered it to me, but I don't really care if my trigger has side to side slop, but he made the trigger snug that the slop was minimized anyhow. He can customize the shape of the trigger to an extent so if you have a sketch.

                          triggers

I'll get you via PMs and send you some ideas, thinking somehting similar to the CP slingblade and Tunablade combined with a bearing in there.

Be nice to have an adjustable trigger magnet in the trigger like the Tunablade as well for more adjustability

The only thing I have found to be lacking in mine are the stock detents. They allow double feed too often.

Had heard something about Killa making or going to be making some...any word on that?
