      Welding supply

I called around locally and found a welding supply that does it for 25.00 tax included.
The paintball store wanted 50.00, I found out they send the tanks to the same welding supply.
I found its better to bring them just the tank. They destroyed a reg on me, it was a real old
Nitro Duck that I wasnt about to use anyways.

Crossfire also does it, plus they have a 5 dollar off on their website for it.

Any places in Los Angeles that I can walk into with my tank(s)?

And can anyone clear up some confusion around the old school small OD CO2 tanks like the super long 10 ounce tanks. Do these need to be re-hydroed or do the pass on the tanks under a certain OD do not have to be retested?

2 inch od, so the old 10 oz tanks are good, you dont have to get them tested.

Also call around to SCUBA shops to see if they can do or can recommend any one. I happed to call one locally around here and they said they could get it done for $35 or since I work in Nashville, I could take it to the place and skip the SCUBA shop middle man to save some money. I did and it only cost me about $23 and 3 days of waiting. Seems there are good places where you can save money if you know were to look. Otherwise I was looking at packaging my tank up and shipping it somewhere and definately paying a lot more!

Also ask around at firestations to see where they get extinguishers hydro'd. The place I went to is actually a fire safety equipment place and they test extinguishers as well as SCUBA tanks, paintball tanks, and others.

In the dealer thread there was a guy a while back that did them for $15 out of WI that had a 24hr turn around.

                  From the site above:
                  Hydrotest Cylinder $17.95
Remove Valve/regulator (must be removed for testing) $5.00
                  Re-attach Valve/regulator $5.00
                  + ________
                  27.95 for a hydro
                  plus shipping?

Regulator Rebuild (can be done without hydro service, but hydro must be current for rebuilding) ---PMI/Pure Energy Only. $25.00
Shipping ground UPS per bottle (choose this or 2nd Day) $6.95 OR Shipping 2nd Day Air per bottle $16.00

Can you link the regulation on that? So I can print a copy and take it with me to get a fill.

                    And thanks!

The guy in WI I don't know about, but as far as hydrotester goes...

I live across puget sound from them and get tanks back in two business days. The last tank I sent went to them on a Thursday, I had it back on Monday. Contrast that with the other two places I tried, one was a proshop, it took five weeks to get the tank back, the other was a scuba shop, they took TWO months. Hydrotester also do all the work on site. You can call them and they can tell you exactly where your tank is in the process. I called the proshop that took 5 weeks, they had no clue, just that it wasn't back yet. I'll gladly pay extra for the far superior service that you get from hydrotester.

Edit to add: I forget you were in Silverdale, you could just drop your tanks off with them.

They seem like cool guys. Geoff signs all his emails with 'tanks!'.

                          Plus they paintball as well.
