    interesting little factoid

I noticed just now that there are 3 times as many people browsing the AO forums as there are people in the Specopspaintball forum.

I find it more interesting how AO seems to always have ten times as many guests viewing as members. Come on people, sign up. All the cool kids are doing it

as far as guests are concerned remember that quite a few are either bots (ugh) or members to lazy to sign in...

A lot of the "guests" you see will be search engine spiders, spambots, and other such automated non-human visitors. For an established site like AO, that means that the domain is much more likely to be indexed and visited by spiders and the others.

Plus, a lot of people are going to search on Google (or other search engine) for information about AGD products or paintball and be directed to a post on this site. Many of them are just looking for that blurb of info. They do not want to join the community.

And am I the only one who just noticed that the forum has a birthday counter that also posts age ?

I'm also rather pleasantly surprised to see that our little community based around "obsolete technology" and "a dying company" has almost 1.4 million posts and over 32,000 members
