Hydro queston

Well, I can't find it on the tank anywhere and want to be sure. Are Crossfire HPA tanks 3 year or 5 year hydro? I was told five year when I got it but I've heard rumor that thats not true. Does any one know for sure? I'm selling my E-mag and was going to include it in a kit for the sale but I want to make sure its still in hydro befor I do so.

IM pretty sure every tank made within the last five years is a five year tank in America. If you are in Canada it's still three years for hydro testing.

3000psi tanks are usually 3 years, 4500psi tanks 5 years, and all aluminum tanks 5 years.

Problem is some feilds refuse to fill tanks past 3 years from the hydrodate unless it specifically states on the label that it is a 5 year hydro tank. I was told that my 07/04 tank was nearing a hydrotest at SC village.

Whatever rule the tank falls under, it is ultimately the fill operators decision to fill or not fill a tank.

There are three tank types that are five year. Most majhor companies use them but not all. The types are listed on this page: http://www.zdspb.com/tech/misc/hydrotest.html

It's possible for a three-year tank to "become" a five-year tank if it was retested after a certain date. I suggest printing out the DOT sheets for the tank model you have if you've got one of those types of tanks. They can come in handy to make sure a paintball shop knows how to do its job

All three of the Crossfires that I have are DOT-E 10945. According to this exemption (which expired on March 31, 2006 and was superceeded by SP-10945 as of May 9, 2007) These cylinders retested prior to July 1, 2001 must be retested within 36 months of the retest date marked on the cylinder. Cylinders retested after July 1, 2001 must be reinspected and hydrostatically retested at least once every five years.
