    Need info

Hey fellas. I hope this does not sound odd but I was hoping someone could post or email me a pic of an old school die cast single trigger grip frame without the rubber grip on it. The reason is that I am interested in modifing one to accept a lever switch to actuate my warp feed. I do not want to buy one to find out that I could not accomplish this. I already have a carbon fiber grip but need to see if the inside of the die cast frame may be easier to work with. Thanks!

I modded my CF frame for an Intellifeed with only the file on my Leatherman. Easiest mod I've ever done, I can't imagine working with die cast metal would be easier. I can take some pictures this weekend if you want.

I would appreciate it! I will be using my Dremel tool. I just need to see if there is more material in the grip on the die cast grip. Thanks

OK, finally got around to taking the pictures. Here we go.

I used the Leatherman Crunch in the first picture to do all the work on the frame. The only other thing I needed was a soldering iron (though I could have done it without). The file on the Leatherman is abrasive on all sides, so I used it like a saw to cut a chunk out of the frame, then fine tuned it with the file for a perfect fit. Then I used it like a saw again to cut out the little slots for the wires and terminals on the roller switch. I sold my Warp and all my Warp stuff or I'd take another picture with the stuff in the frame. Anyway, after I did that I pretty much followed AGD's instructions (PDF) exactly, except for popping the roller switch in the CF frame instead of screwing it into an Intelliframe. Hope that helps. Good luck!

This is a carbon fibre frame not a die cast.

I have one and I will try and get a camera so I can post a pic.

Which is why I called it a CF frame and not a die cast frame. I said in my first post that I had a CF frame I'd done this to and that it was really easy, and he said that pictures would be nice. I'm actually intelligent enough to tell the difference between die-cast metal and carbon fiber, but thanks for checking. Please read everything I've written before correcting me.

I appreciate the info but would like to see what the die cast looked like without the grips.

Yeah, but I do what I can. I can't see how a die-cast frame would be easier to mod, though, the CF one was easy as hell and worked great every time. Post pics whatever you do, though, we need to see more single-trigger Intelifeeds around here. Cheers.

I just really wanted to see a pic of a die cast grip without the rubber on it to see what it looks like inside. I really appreciate the info you gave me! I myself use my intelliframe (double trigger) simply to actuate my warp feed but do not really find the intelliframe comfortable. I am not saying that it is bad or anything I just prefer a single trigger. I usually only use one finger on my intelliframe because of this. Although I think it is impressive to see, I myself cannot "walk" a double trigger. I am in the process of gaining a carbon fiber grip to mod it. Thanks for the help!

                              No problem

That is what a tournament gun looked like in 1992/1994. Just pulled it out of the moth balls. Need any more help, let me know.
